一、形容词比较级和最高级的构成
规则变化
一般情况：单音节词和部分双音节词，在词尾加 -er 构成比较级，加 -est 构成最高级。
例词：tall - taller - tallest；short - shorter - shortest；strong - stronger - strongest
以 -e 结尾的词：加 -r 构成比较级，加 -st 构成最高级。
例词：nice - nicer - nicest；fine - finer - finest；large - larger - largest
以 “辅音字母 + y” 结尾的词：变 y 为 i，再加 -er 和 -est。
例词：happy - happier - happiest；busy - busier - busiest；easy - easier - easiest
重读闭音节词：双写末尾辅音字母，再加 -er 和 -est。
例词：big - bigger - biggest；hot - hotter - hottest；thin - thinner - thinnest
多音节词和部分双音节词：在词前加 more 构成比较级，加 most 构成最高级。
例词：beautiful - more beautiful - most beautiful；interesting - more interesting - most interesting；delicious - more delicious - most delicious
不规则变化
例词：good/well - better - best；bad/badly/ill - worse - worst；many/much - more - most；little - less - least；far - farther/further - farthest/furthest
二、形容词比较级的用法
表示两者比较：用 “比较级 + than” 结构。
例句：My bag is heavier than yours.（我的包比你的重。）

比较级前可用修饰词：much, a little, a lot, even, still, far 等表示程度的词修饰比较级。
