Step1 Warm-up 1.Greeting Ss as unusual. 2.Watch a video. 3.Talk about preferences . Step2 Presentation Show pictures and talk about favorite book/movies /music/band... Introduce topic about Micheal’s birthday and talk about things that Micheal’s loves as gifts for him. Pre -Listening Ask the students to look at the picture in 1a and describe the pictures that Micheal loves.Then think about the things that why Micheal likes. While Listening Listen for the first time and fill in the chart in 1b. Ask students pay attention to the key words: Clothes,book,writer,movie poster,not mentioned. then Listen for the second time and circle the correct answers. Listen again in 1c.Write why Micheal likes each things in the second column of the chart in 1b. Summarize about Micheal’s favorite things.,then retell the listening material and describe your opinion with the attributive clause. Post -listening Show the things on the pictures that Micheal likes and Talk about “What do you want to buy for Micheal ” Ask students to answer “What kind of books/movie posters/clothes/...do you want to buy and why In 1d,ask Ss to discuss your favorite things in 1a with your group.Say why like each things. Let’s do a report:For example: I prefer movies /bands/books ...that.. Work in group. 1)Let Ss write a gift list for the people who helped us. 2)According to the questions ,four students in a group ,make a survey.Then write your answers together. Step3 Summary:Students summarize what they have learned today. Talk about the questions and express preferences. Predict the listening material by pictures. Listen and check the things that Micheal likes and the reasons why Micheal likes. Talk about Micheal’ birthday gifts and talk about Ss favorite things with attributive clause. then do a report .
