Step 1 Lead-in
Ask students to watch a short video of Animal World and ask them to say out the names of the animals in the video.

1.Ask students to look at the pictures in 1a and write down the names of the animals.

Work on 1b
1.Ask students to listen to the conversation in 1b and answer the three questions according to the recording.

2.Ask students to share their answers.
Work on 1c
1.Ask students to listen to 1c and judge whether the sentences are correct or incorrect.
T:Different students are talking about the animals at the zoo.Who likes monkeys?Who doesn't like wolves?Where do the students see the monkeys?Listen to the recording and circle T for true or F for false.
2.Ask students to share their answers and the teacher helps to correct their mistakes if necessary.
3.Ask students to make a summary about the descriptive words in listening scripts of 1c.

1.Ask some of the students to share their favourite animals.

2.Ask students to make a conversation with their deskmates using the sentence patterns in 1d and descriptive words in 1c.
