The film was adapted from the novel written in 1986 by Winston Groom. Following the release of film in 1994 were the positive reviews from audiences and 6 Oscars it won, including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Visual Effect from the Academy. It also won many other awards and nominations, including Golden Globes, People's Choice Awards, and Young Artist Awards.
Director Robert Zemeckis used CGI techniques to insert Forrest into historical scenes, including meetings with deceased personages, so it
