Define
with 复合结构是由介词with+宾语+宾语补足语构成，宾语由名词或代词充当，宾语补足语由形容词、副词、介词短语、非谓语（-ed、-ing和to do）充当。
注意：with结构不是句子，在句中充当定语和状语，故结构中不会有谓语动词形式。
with后的宾语和宾语补足语有逻辑上的主谓关系
Syntactic function
1.with复合结构,在句中表示状态或说明背景情况该结构常为伴随、方式、原因、条件等状语。
1 ) With winter coming ,the trees turn yellow.
=when winter comes, the trees turn yellow.
2)With the key lost, she could not enter theroom.
=Because the key had been lost, she couldnot enter the room.

3)With time permitting, we will visit the Summer Palace 作条件状语
=If time permits,we will visit the Summer Palace.
4)The children came running towards us withsome flowers in their hands. 作伴随状语
=The children came running towards us and heldsome flowers in their hands.
2.with复合结构,在句中做定语
The woman with a baby in her armsis Tom's mother.
=the woman who has a baby in herarms is Tom's mother.
