Learning objectives:
一般现在时
表示通常性、规律性、习惯性、真理性(即事实)的动作或状态,或者动作有时间规律发生的事件的一种时间状态。
基本用法
1经常性或习惯性的动作或存在的状态。
2客观事实或普遍真理。
3时间、条件等状语从句中,一般现在时可以表示将来。
一般现在时的标志词
(1)一般usually,often,always sometimes, regularly,near,occasionally,every year, every week等
一般现在时的标志词
(2)由after,until,before,once,when,even if,in case,as long as,as soon as,the moment以及if,unless等引导的时间状语从句或条件状语从句中,一般现在时一般可以代替将来时。

(4)在由why,what,where,whoever,who,that,as等引导的从句中,也常用一般现在时代替将来时。
基本结构-单三形式 第三人称单数,谓语动词要发生变化
肯定句:主语+动词第三人称单数形式+其它
否定句:主语+doesn't+动词原形+其它
一般疑问句:Does+主语+动词原形+其它
肯定回答 :Yes,主语+does;否定回答: No,主语+doesn't
特殊疑问句:特殊疑问词+一般疑问句
注意★:句式结构错则全句都错。

①Tom was working in a big company. He had been on the road visiting people for more than a month without going home. He couldn't wait to get back to see his wife and children. It was coming up on Mother's Day, and he usually tried to make it “back home”, but this year he was just too busy and too tired.
②The day when he was driving in a small town, he saw a flower shop. He said to himself, “I know what I will do. I'll send my mother some roses.” He stopped and went into the flower shop and saw a young man talking to the girl in it. “How many roses can I get for five dollars, Ms ” the boy asked. The girl was trying to explain that roses were expensive. Maybe the young man would be happy with something else. “No, I have to have roses,” he said, “my mum was badly sick last year and I didn't get to spend much time with her. I want to get something special. It has to be red roses, because that is her favorite.” He was stubborn.
③The girl in the shop looked up at Tom and was just shaking her head.Something inside of Tom was touched by the boy's voice. He wanted to get those roses so badly. Tom had been blessed(幸运的) in his business, and he looked at the girl and silently said that he would pay for the boy's roses. The girl looked at the young man and said,“OK, I will give you a dozen red roses for your dollars.” The young man almost jumped into the air. He took the flowers and ran down the store. It was worth more than fifty dollars just to see that kind of excitement.
④Tom ordered his own flowers and asked the girl to have it delivered to his mother. After that, with a relief he drove down the road. Not long after his driving, he saw the boy walking to a graveyard(幕地)

With the red roses in hand, the boy walked to a grave stone, where he stood still for a while, then knelt down and finally laid these roses down with caution and care, “Mum, I'm sorry that I didn't send you roses when you were still alive,” he sobbed, “Were you still alive, I would say 'I love you' a thousand times over!”
The boy's words were like a flash of lightning striking Tom's heart heavily, but meanwhile shed new light on him, leading him out of the mist of confusion, Tom's eyes becoming misty for regret. How could he be so selfish to deal with this special day roughly with some roses and having his mum spend Mother's Day alone
Reflecting on what he had planned, Tom felt a flush of shame burning his face fiercely. He must grasp every opportunity to stay with mum before God summoned her to the heaven. At the thought of this, Tom withdrew from the graveyard quietly.
Tom started the car and hurried to the flower shop, where the flower girl was obviously stunned to see him again. But after hearing Tom's explanation, she quickly chose the finest roses, wrapped them with a delicate ribbon and attached a note to roses, which read, “Happy Mother's Day!”. Upon getting roses, Tom zoomed towards his mother's house in no time.
Tom could hardly wait to knock at the door and what greeted him was a warm embrace from his mum, whose eyes were brimming with sparkling tears.
No other gifts can be equal to the roses sent by Tom in person in mum's eyes.
The most beautiful gift on Mother's day was the red roses sent by Tom in person.
