Although she was too weak to sit up and move around, she was determined to see Mr Behrman the last time. Supported by Sue, Johnsy got out of bed and went downstairs. There was Mr. Behrman lying dead in his bed. Holding Mr. Behrman’s hand tightly, Johnsy whispered to the pale face, “Dear Mr. Behrman! It’s you who gave me a second life and I promise that I will continue my painting.”

After what seemed like ages, she held back her tears and murmured to the pale face, “Dear Mr. Behrman! It’s you who gave me a second life. I promise that from today on, I will put all my heart and soul into painting.”
