Music is arguably the most life enriching academic subject. 1 .It can bring lots of important benefits to your child's education, many of which you may not have considered before.
Increase language capabilities
Music and language have a far reaching relationship.Musical training stimulates the same part of the brain that deals with understanding language.Children who have some exposure to musical education will, therefore, have a greater understanding of tones and how different phrases are arranged. 2 .
Improve hand eye coordination (协调)
3 .It takes considerable hand eye coordination to learn almost any instrument. Those who master their craft are blessed with a unique skill; it's something that can be applied to other areas of general life.It can also help elsewhere in education,as writing skills and art require the hands and eyes to work together.
4
Music is a great way for your child to meet new people and create lasting friendships. If they decide to take up music as an extracurricular (课外的) activity, they'll be bonding with like minded children who share their passion. In a time when children are increasingly interested in communicating online and focusing on digital skills, music is a refreshing return to face to face contact.
Bring about a sense of achievement

Having dragged everything I owned halfway across the country,I reached my university a complete fresher. 1 Noisy and busy,it felt somewhat overwhelming.Soon I realized everyone was just as anxious about the idea or starting the next chapter in life. But I wouldn't exchange my university experience for anything. The only thing I wished I had done is a proper exploration in advance of the maddening first day.So I hope to share something you should know before your arrival at university. 2
The first point I'd like to make is that you're in charge of your degree.Outside of your scheduled lectures, you're the one who determines whether to carry on studying or to spend the rest of your day relaxing. 3 Are you going to be the student starting their assignment weeks beforehand,or the one pulling an all nighter before a 10:00 am deadline
Multiplicity is everywhere.University is where you'll meet people from all over the world. Our eyes begin to widen to distinctive cultures, values, and morals around us. 4 So,whoever is there can fit in.
Remember going to university isn't just about studying, but you have to learn to balance your work and life.Every university has sports teams, societies and voluntary activities to get involved with.Every university has a Students' Union, where your voice comes in. 5 Some universities even offer job opportunities in bars, shops and food outlets.
Bothersome as your early university life may be,it'll be incredible once you find your feet.
A.I'd done zero research about it.
B.Every choice made is up to you.
C.Why not make up for your lost youth
D.Every university is both inclusive and diverse.
E.It may ease you into a most significant change of life.

A high school student has a science test on Monday but spends most of the weekend playing video games and does not start studying until late Sunday night. This kind of avoiding or delaying of work that needs to be done is called procrastination (拖延症).It has been said that up to 95% of people procrastinate at least sometimes, and about 20% of them do it too much. 1
The first factor is how pleasant or unpleasant people find a task.Research shows that people put off tasks they find unpleasant.Someone who loves bicycles might not delay fixing a tire, while someone who does not may put it off.
2 For example, those who have low expectations of success are more likely to delay starting a job.On the other hand, those who believe they can perform well take on challenging tasks rather than avoid them.
3 Studying hard in high school might not give high school students any immediate rewards; what they learn might not seem useful to the present.Sometimes,it is hard to see the benefit of making an effort when the reward is too far away. 4
Lastly, another factor is whether or not people can use self control. Those who have less self control can easily be drawn away from their work.Interestingly, age is said to be associated with self control. 5
If procrastination is a problem for you,the first step to reducing it is identifying the reasons behind it.It is only by understanding the roots of your problem that you can choose the appropriate method for yourself.
A.Besides, there is a link between procrastination and how long people must wait before they see the reward for an effort.
B.Research shows that the older people become, the less likely they are to delay doing their work until the last minute.
C.In addition, the amount of confidence they have in their ability to do a task is also related to procrastination.
D.As it is common to most people, how to avoid procrastination has become a major concern.
E.What's more,it has been argued that too much confidence can also lead to procrastination.
F.Although researchers do not agree on all the reasons behind procrastination, there is general agreement about some factors that can explain it.
G.This can explain why many people do not start saving money for their old age when they are young.

Teamwork Doubles the Strength
Admittedly, teamwork is literally important for any class or team to achieve its goals and objectives.Let me give three reasons why it is advantageous.
As individuals,we possess diverse talents, strengths, weaknesses and experiences.A team is just like a tapestry (织锦) that weaves what each of us possesses, resulting in an end product that is diverse yet homogenous (同种类的).As team members exchange thoughts and experiences, there can be more efficiency and effectiveness at problem solving. This pooling of talents can also lead to greater innovation and success. 1 .It won the Premier League in 2016,to the utter disbelief of many soccer fans.Leicester City, previously regarded as the underdog of the League, displayed extremely impressive teamwork, which led to its unbelievable victory in soccer history.
Next, teamwork means members share the workload. When work is distributed and each of us in a team specializes in specific tasks, the stress on each of us is reduced and the completion of tasks before deadline is ensured: 2 .
3 .Team members learn from more experienced members who may offer deeper insights and perspectives.Newer members may also contribute new ideas.Besides encouraging the sharing of knowledge and experiences, teamwork also develops soft skills like communication and interpersonal skills. 4 .
Some may think that working in isolation (单独) is more efficient since more time is taken when cooperating with others. For more talented individuals, working alone means being the star of a project. 5 .But the loss of synergy (协同作用) that only team effort can generate may also prevent the team from reaching its full potential.
A.Take Leicester City for example
B.Thus we can expect greater job satisfaction
C.Team members can also be divided in opinion
D.They don't need to share the success with others
E.Let's not wave away the chance to work in teams
F.And finally working in a team multiplies learning opportunities
G.We learn to respect differences in working styles and opinions, and develop trust

Do you feel like there are too many things to do in a day,but not enough time to do them If so,you're experiencing what researchers call “time poverty”.
1 The standard reply to “How are you?” is often “I'm so busy!” Many people find it increasingly difficult to spare time to see friends, pursue a hobby,or take a vacation. Some people even take great pride in how busy they are because it's become a status symbol. 2 Fortunately, here are specific steps we can take to feel more time affluent (富足的) and more socially connected.
If you want a satisfying social life, buy time for it.You might pay to have a disliked housework done by others, get a direct flight instead of a cheaper one with a stopover,or pay extra to drive the fastest route home. 3
Another way to get more time is to give it away.In one study, researchers asked people to devote part of their Saturday morning to doing something for themselves that they weren't already planning to do or doing something for someone else. The people who gave away their time later felt like they had more of it. 4
If you have too many things to do and not enough time to do them, try to cut back on some things. 5 You can probably choose to slow down a little and make more time for casual chats with co workers and unplanned get togethers with friends.
A.“Time poverty” is a sign of the times.
B.Helping others expands our sense of time.
C.You don't have to keep up with the pace of the modern world.
D.Buying time is a good way to free you from the boredom of repeated tasks.
E.The choices we make with our time greatly affect our happiness and social lives.
F.Yet,feeling short on time is associated with lower level of happiness and connection.
G.Then invest your free time in something socially engaging, like calling a friend or hanging out with your kids.
