PART. 01

Based on your own daily study and life, compare the study and life in Chinese and British schools, and find out the similarities and differences between the two. Talk about your first impression of high school life, and have a preliminary perception of the study and life in the senior high school stage.
Learning Objectives
Analyze a text about Lang Ping to understand her life story, extracting details about her achievements, roles (athlete/coach), and recognition. Identify text structures and use them as a model for writing. Plan and draft a life story of a admired person, applying structural elements and language features.
Explore Lang Ping’s impact on Chinese volleyball culture, understanding how athletes become national role models. Recognize cultural values like perseverance, dedication, and national pride in sports achievements.
Break down Lang Ping’s life into components (athlete career, coaching, awards), analyzing how each part contributes to her legacy. Use text structures to organize information logically in writing. Imagine how to present ordinary events to highlight extraordinary qualities.
Use “text analysis” and “writing scaffolding” strategies. By independently researching a person, planning a life story, and revising drafts, students take ownership of learning.
