Writing Workshop
Learning Objectives
PART. 01
Understand the daily study and life of British middle school students by watching videos. Based on your own daily study and life, compare the study and life in Chinese and British schools, and find out the similarities and differences between the two. Talk about your first impression of high school life, and have a preliminary perception of the study and life in the senior high school stage.
Learning Objectives
Analyze a sample invitation email to identify key components and extract structural patterns. Master the structure of formal invitation emails. Use formal language to compose clear, polite invitations, applying grammar and vocabulary accurately.
Learn cultural expectations of formal English communication (e.g., tone, structure in invitation letters). Understand how to respect professional relationships through appropriate language and etiquette.
Break down the sample email into parts, analyzing how each section functions. Apply this analysis to structure you own invitations logically. When drafting unique invitation details, innovate within the formal structure, tailoring content to specific events while following cultural norms.
Use “analyze-model-create” strategies: studying a sample, identifying patterns, and applying them to new writing. By planning, drafting, and revising emails, take ownership of mastering formal writing.

Dear Jeff,
I’m glad to tell you that our school will hold a party for the international students this Saturday. We would feel honoured if you could come and join us.
As scheduled, the party will be held in the concert hall from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. There will be Chinese comedies, magic acts, and some Chinese folk songs and dances. I’m sure you can get to know more about Chinese customs and culture there. Besides, these will be followed by a free conversation, which would be a good chance for you to meet students from around the world in an enjoyable environment.
