Unit 1
Food matters
Project & Assessment
Learning Objectives
01
Learning Objectives
1. research the recipe of a chosen dish through cooperation and exploration;
2. use group work to write and present the recipe;
3. make a video or take photos of how the dish is made and then make a presentation;
4. evaluate and comment on each other’s work.
Key Points and Difficult Points
Students discuss, research and make a dish to master recipe vocabulary and food culture. Assessment prompts reflection on comfort food, language and project challenges. Further study links food to culture and science, showing its life influence via integrated learning.
A main difficulty is skill integration: precise recipe research, clear cooking presentations and English expression of complex thoughts. Sorting article structure, grasping key info/viewpoints, understanding healing food and cultivating life observation also challenge in-depth learning.
