1. 考查形式多样，包括文字提示性作文、图表图画提示性作文、命题作文等，还有贵阳的看图写话和毕节的小作文。
2. 文体包括记叙文、说明文和应用文。应用文的形式多样，含信件、邮件、日记、演讲稿、发言稿、邀请函等。 3. 话题包括四大类：做法建议类(就某一事件，中学生应该怎么做)，写人叙事类(介绍某人，叙述某事)，介绍类(介结某一实物、活动、地点等)，观点看法类(针对某一社会现象，发表个人观点和看法)，同时也会相对涉及新信息或贵州特色。
