Developing Children’s Persistence
One of the most important lessons a child can learn is not to give up when faced with a challenging situation, but instead to continue and overcome it.
  Invention education
As the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects continues to grow due to the world’s increasing complexity (复杂性), invention education has become a popular way for children to explore these fields in pleasant ways.
At Camp Invention, there are no “right” or “wrong” ways to complete each day’s set of challenges and activities. Those who take part in it are able to seek solutions that naturally interest them. For example, campers learn how to change their cars to travel across the land, and create basic theory that could help them move through the air and even underwater by using the same method shared by some of the world’s most well-known inventors!
  The Innovation Mindset
Working with our national innovators whose discoveries continue to improve the lives of people everywhere, we have recognized nine basic skills that can benefit children throughout their lives. We call this the Innovation Mindset, and it influences the development of all our education programmes.
Persistence is a very important part of the Innovation Mindset because it teaches children to recover from setbacks and overcome difficulties to reach their goals.Because our programmes develop determination through a “create, test and retest” way of learning, students build the strength and confidence to take on any challenges that stand in their way.

One summer during high school, my mom volunteered me to help Grandpa research our family tree. It’s terrible to imagine hours spent dusting boxes and listening to boring stories about people I didn’t know.“You’ll be surprised,” my mom promised.“Family history can be very interesting.”
In truth, Grandpa didn’t want to limit my work to just research, hoping to also keep our family memories. He’d discovered a computer program that helped digitally scan old pictures and letters to maintain their contents before they crumble from age.Grandpa wanted me to help him connect the scanner and set up the computer program. He could type documents and send emails, but had never used a scanner.
Soon after, I became interested my relatives’ lives.I asked Grandpa to tell the story behind every picture and letter we scanned. The stories, which turned out not to be boring at all, helped me not only understand but also relate to my relatives.I became so eager for more information that Grandpa needed additional props (道具) to keep me satisfied. He showed me a chest filled with random stuff, all covered in dust.
Looking through their belongings, I felt I was opening a window to the world of my relatives, a world long since gone.Grandpa showed me letters he had sent to Grandma from the front line of World War Ⅱ and I could almost smell the gunpowder.I turned the pages of my great-grandmother’s recipe book and could picture her cooking in her kitchen. All of the people who had been only names to me now had faces to match.
Later, Grandpa admitted,“I probably could have done this project myself.I just wanted someone to share it with.” I can’t thank him enough for sharing the experience and making me appreciate the family members who have made me who I am.
24.Which can best describe the author’s first impression of the research?
A.Delightful. B.Boring.
C.Surprising. D.Interesting.
25.What does the underlined word “crumble” in Paragraph 2 probably mean?
A.Come to life. B.Tear apart.
C.Fall to pieces. D.Break through.
26.Why did Grandpa give the author a chest?
A.To show him old letters.
B.To keep him away from boredom.
C.To give him something to sort out.
D.To satisfy his eagerness to know more.
27.What can we learn about Grandpa from the passage?
A.He possibly served as a soldier in the past.
B.He knew nothing about the computer.
C.He buried the letters under gunpowder.
D.He loved sharing what he had with others.

A recent study on parents who beat their children indicated that physical punishment still happens far more frequently than previously (先前地) thought but that physical punishment was ineffective.73 per cent of the children who were hit waited less than 10 minutes before acting out again.
Many parents deal with their children’s mistakes by taking away toys and separating them from their playmates. But for strong-willed kids like I was, none of these methods were effective.
Like many kids, I wasn’t bad; I was bored.Fortunately, my father realized this fairly early and developed a new form of “discipline (原则)” that produced immediate results and long-term positive effects.
Looking back as an adult, my father’s method of making me read the encyclopedia (百科全书) whenever I did something wrong was the best thing he could have done.
He would tell me a topic and say, “Learn about the aardvark (土豚) and I’m going to test you shortly after.” It was punishment in the sense that I was forced to stop whatever I was doing, but it also had a purpose in that it kept my mind occupied and presented the type of mental challenge I clearly lacked.
Although unwillingly, I went to learn absolutely everything there to know about aardvarks because I was going to figure out every question he could throw at me.If it weren’t for my driving need to prove him wrong, it may not have worked as well as it did.
So that’s just it: It was effective. It helped me change my behavior in that moment and it conditioned me to seek out books when I was bored.Obviously, that happened frequently and apparently and it worked.I grew up to become a successful lawyer and a famous writer as well.To this day, Dad’s the only one who can beat me.
28.What is the probable main idea of Paragraph 1?
A.It reports the result of a recent study about the encyclopedia.
B.Physical punishment is useless to deal with children.
C.Physical punishment only happened previously.
D.73 per cent of the children love physical punishment.
29.Why do many kids frequently do what they’re not allowed to do according to the author?
A.Because they produce immediate results and long-term positive effects.
B.Because they prefer to break the “discipline” set by their parents.
C.Because they are always regarded as bad kids both at home.
D.Because they often find it’s boring in their everyday life.
30.What was the author’s father’s method of punishing him for his mistakes?
A.His father angrily took away his favorite toys.
B.His father separated him from his playmates.
C.His father forced him to do some reading and tested him later.
D.His father ordered him to learn about the aardvark and quizzed him shortly after.
31.What can be inferred from this passage?
A.Children who are mentally challenged are more likely to be successful.
B.Parents ought to develop a new form of physical punishment to educate their kids.
C.It’s absolutely necessary to punish strong-willed kids physically.
D.The stricter parents are, the fewer mistakes children will make.
D
The week my eldest son finished pre-school education, I decided to clear out the playroom filled with his toys.Toys had kept him company whenever his mother and I were busy with other duties, and over the years we had collected a really large number of them. Here are some of what I found: 13 puzzles, 4 games for practising maths, and a speaker box that could play Mozart to develop musical ability.
Our masses of playthings may have been extreme, but it was by no means unusual.American families spend, on average, around 600 dollars every year on toys; a 10-year-old child in the UK may have owned 238 toys, totaling about 6,500 pounds.
During the past two centuries, educators, toy companies and parents like us have acted as if the purpose of play is to prepare children for adulthood. The more book learning we could pack up as play, and then give to our children, the better. Then, in the second half of the 20th century, toys were increasingly bought for the purpose of building better brains in order to build more competitive and successful grown-ups.By 2020, the different kinds of educational toys had made nearly $65 billion worldwide.Toys that teach — from the Speak & Spell to the See & Say — are now a part of many young lives.
“This generation of parents is asking toys to provide an end product, and that end product is success,” Richard Gottlieb, an influential toy industry advisor, commented.“They want toys to get their children into Harvard.”
“The model has been, ‘If I get toys that do schoolish things, then that’s good,’” Alison Gopnik, a leading developmental psychologist, said.“But that really goes against what the developmental science is telling us.For a long time, we’ve been getting our children, and their toys, all wrong.”
32.Why does the author mention toys in his house?
A.To present the varieties of toys. B.To advise others to buy fewer toys.
C.To show parents’ craziness for toys. D.To complain of too many toys in his house.
33.How does the author show his point in Paragraph 2?
A.By listing numbers. B.By quoting opinions.
C.By providing examples. D.By drawing comparisons.
34.What is parents’ misunderstanding about toys?
A.They can keep children happy. B.They can make children positive.
C.They can reduce children’s stress. D.They can promote children’s success.
35.Which of the following is a suitable title for the text?
A.Do We Need to Buy Toys? B.Are Toys a Part of Our Lives?
C.Can Toys Bring Us Happiness? D.Have We Got Toys All Wrong?

There is no satisfactory 46 a parent can give to this.

A Bowl of Noodles
Jenny was the only child in her home. She had a quarrel with her mother that afternoon and she ran out of the house angrily. She couldn’t help crying sadly when she thought of the scolding from her mother.Having wandered aimlessly in the street for hours, she felt a little hungry and wished for something to eat, but it was not even possible for her, since she had nothing with her.She stood beside a stand for a while, watching the middle-aged seller busy doing his business. However, with no money in hand, she sighed and had to leave.
The seller behind the stand noticed the young girl and asked, “Hey, girl, you want to have the noodles?”
“Oh, yes ...but I don’t have money on me ...” she replied.
“That’s nothing.I’ll treat you today,” said the man. “Come in.”
The seller brought her a bowl of noodles, whose smell was so attractive.Jenny thanked the man and started to gobble (狼吞虎咽) up the delicious food ... then cried silently.
“What is it?” asked the man kindly.
“Nothing, actually I was moved by your kindness!” said Jenny as she wiped her tears.“Even a stranger on the street will give me a bowl of noodles, while my mother drove me out of the house. She showed no care for me.She is so mean and cruel!”
Hearing the words, the seller smiled, “Girl, do you really think so? I only gave you a bowl of noodles and you thanked me a lot.But it is your mother who has raised you since you were a baby. Can you number the times that she has cooked for you? Have you expressed your thanks to her?”
Jenny sat there, speechless and numb with shock; she remembered her mother’s familiar face and weathered hands.“Why did I not think of that? A bowl of noodles from a stranger made me feel grateful, but I have never thanked my mum for what she has done for me.”
On the way home, Jenny made up her mind to make an apology to her mother for her rudeness as soon as she arrived home.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
Approaching the doorway, Jenny took a deep breath.

A gentle touch on her hair called her mind back.

(Text 1)
M:Sorry, I have forgotten John’s address.
W:You forgot again! It’s 1343 King Street.
(Text 2)
M:The car is very nice.Did you buy it last month?
W:No, I rented it for a holiday last week. And my own car I bought three years ago is still good.
(Text 3)
M:Your skirt is quite beautiful in color, isn’t it?
W:Yes, I bought it at a sale for half price. It cost me 12.
(Text 4)
M:I hope I can see you at my birthday party.
W:Oh, dear, I’ve almost forgotten. When is it?
M:Well, the day after April Fools’ Day. Easy to remember, isn’t it?
W:Yes, of course.
(Text 5)
M:I hear you are going to drive to New York this weekend.
W:Oh, I’ve changed my mind.
M:What?
W:I think flying will be more comfortable.
(Text 6)
W:Have a look at these brochures. Have you ever thought of visiting South America?
M:Well, I’ve traveled to Brazil on business twice and I’d really like to go there a third time.
W:Great! There will be a flight on Oct.25th and ...
M:Flight? Forget that! I am afraid of flying.
W:Oh, how about traveling by ship?
M:Sorry, my wife is seasick.
W:What about a coach tour? It includes many interesting places and it’s quite cheap.
M:OK. That’s it.
(Text 7)
W:Did you enjoy yourself in the summer camp?
M:Yes. The food was great. Everything was great, and I made some new friends there.
W:Was there anything impressive?
M:Yeah, the hiking through the Grand Canyon was the most unforgettable. Not only did it test our endurance, but gave us a chance to know more about each other. A boy from Tokyo taught us a few Japanese words and we learned how to dance from the only Indian girl in our group.
W:Do you have any suggestions for us?
M:Well, actually I do hope that the camp can be extended to 10 days instead of just a week so that everybody can have a good rest.
(Text 8)
M:Hello, Carol. You look unhappy. What’s the matter?
W:Hi, David. I’ve just come back from the stadium. You know, there was a wonderful volleyball match this afternoon. But my favorite team was beaten.
M:Sometimes you win while sometimes you lose.
W:Yeah. But it is still hard to believe it. Oh, forget it. What about your performance?
M:It was a success. Joan is such a talented actress that the role Juliet she played attracted all of the audience’s attention and moved them to tears in the last scene.
W:You must be the most handsome Romeo.
M:Thank you.
(Text 9)
W:Are you available tonight?
M:What’s up?
W:Can you do me a favor to fix the lock for me?
M:Of course. I will bring the tool myself.
W:Why bother? I do have a hammer.
M:OK.
W:Is 7 pm fine with you?
M:Actually, I’ll be at Mike’s to watch the match between Real Madrid and Barcelona then. What about 5 pm?
[WT][WT]
W:Certainly. Thanks! Hope you won’t miss the match.
M:I won’t. Would you like to join us?
W:Sounds good. How can we get to Mike’s?
M:We can either walk there or take a bus. It is not far away from your apartment.
W:Wait a moment. I’ll call the garage to see whether my car is ready. Maybe we can drive there.
M:Oh, that would be great. I’m leaving for the supermarket. Nothing is better than watching a football match with a bottle of beer.
W:Really? I’m afraid I don’t need to pick up the car as I can’t drink and drive.
M:OK. We can go there on foot, and come back by taxi.
W:OK, it’s a deal!

I became so eager for more information that Grandpa needed additional props(道具) to keep me satisfied.
Grandpa showed me letters he had sent to Grandma from the front line of World War Ⅱ and I could almost smell the gunpowder.

42.C but前后两个分句之间是转折关系,所以该空表达的意思要与can understand意义相反,hard to accept符合语境。

come back重新出现。

from ...point of view从……

Dear Lisa,
I am sorry to hear that you are going through a hard time at the moment. The truth is that a number of students are under stress when entering senior high school, so there is no need for you to feel anxious. Here I’d like to offer you some useful suggestions.
First of all, try to put yourself into your parents’ shoes, then you will understand why they expect so much of you — maybe they wish you to have a bright future.Second, you could try communicating your feelings to your parents in a friendly way, which will help you reduce your stress.Last but not least, be confident about yourself, and everything will come out all right in the end.
I sincerely hope my suggestions will be of help to you, and you can free yourself from the stress soon.
Yours,
Li Hua
Approaching the doorway, Jenny took a deep breath. When she knocked at the door, she found the door was locked and her mother was not in.Tired and sad, she sat down in front of the house.“Where could my mother be?” she wondered.“Was she still angry with me?” Again, the scene of the quarrel appeared in her mind. She remembered her rudeness to her mother.Realizing that all the scolding from her mother was due to the fact that her mother really cared a lot about her, she felt rather ashamed, and tears began to roll down her cheeks.
A gentle touch on her hair called her mind back. She raised her head and saw the familiar face of her mother.“Here you come! I’ve been looking for you,” she said, tired and relieved.Jenny couldn’t help throwing herself into her mother’s arms.“Mum, I’m so sorry and thank you for all you have done for me.” She expressed her sincere apology and great gratitude.Hearing this, her mother smiled patting her back gently.

(Text 1)
M:Sorry, I have forgotten John’s address.
W:You forgot again! It’s 1343 King Street.
(Text 2)
M:The car is very nice.Did you buy it last month?
W:No, I rented it for a holiday last week. And my own car I bought
three years ago is still good.
Easy to remember, isn’t
it?
W:Yes, of course.
(Text 5)
M:I hear you are going to drive to New York this weekend.
W:Oh, I’ve changed my mind.
M:What?
W:I think flying will be more comfortable.
(Text 6)
W:Have a look at these brochures. Have you ever thought of visiting
South America?
M:Well, I’ve traveled to Brazil on business twice and I’d really like
to go there a third time.
W:Great! There will be a flight on Oct.25th and ...
M:Flight? Forget that! I am afraid of flying.
W:Oh, how about traveling by ship?
M:Sorry, my wife is seasick.
W:What about a coach tour? It includes many interesting places and
it’s quite cheap.
M:OK. That’s it.
(Text 7)
W:Did you enjoy yourself in the summer camp?
M:Yes. The food was great. Everything was great, and I made some
new friends there.
W:Was there anything impressive?
M:Yeah, the hiking through the Grand Canyon was the most
unforgettable. Not only did it test our endurance, but gave us a chance to
know more about each other. A boy from Tokyo taught us a few Japanese
words and we learned how to dance from the only Indian girl in our group.
W:Do you have any suggestions for us?
M:Well, actually I do hope that the camp can be extended to 10 days
instead of just a week so that everybody can have a good rest.
(Text 8)
M:Hello, Carol. You look unhappy. What’s the matter?
W:Hi, David. I’ve just come back from the stadium. You know,
there was a wonderful volleyball match this afternoon. But my favorite
team was beaten.
M:Sometimes you win while sometimes you lose.
W:Yeah. But it is still hard to believe it. Oh, forget it. What about
your performance?
M:It was a success. Joan is such a talented actress that the role Juliet she
played attracted all of the audience’s attention and moved them to tears in
the last scene.
M:Actually, I’ll be at Mike’s to watch the match between Real
Madrid and Barcelona then. What about 5 pm?
W:Certainly. Thanks! Hope you won’t miss the match.
M:I won’t. Would you like to join us?
W:Sounds good. How can we get to Mike’s?
M:We can either walk there or take a bus. It is not far away from your
apartment.
W:Wait a moment. I’ll call the garage to see whether my car is ready.
Maybe we can drive there.
M:Oh, that would be great. I’m leaving for the supermarket. Nothing
is better than watching a football match with a bottle of beer.
W:Really? I’m afraid I don’t need to pick up the car as I can’t
drink and drive.
M:OK. We can go there on foot, and come back by taxi.
W:OK, it’s a deal!

Developing Children’s Persistence
One of the most important lessons a child can learn is not to give up
when faced with a challenging situation, but instead to continue and
overcome it.
  Invention education
As the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering
and mathematics) subjects continues to grow due to the world’s
increasing complexity (复杂性), invention education has become a
popular way for children to explore these fields in pleasant ways.
At Camp Invention, there are no “right” or “wrong” ways to
complete each day’s set of challenges and activities. Those who take part
in it are able to seek solutions that naturally interest them. For example,
campers learn how to change their cars to travel across the land, and
create basic theory that could help them move through the air and even
underwater by using the same method shared by some of the world’s
most well-known inventors!
The Innovation Mindset
Working with our national innovators whose discoveries continue to
improve the lives of people everywhere, we have recognized nine basic
skills that can benefit children throughout their lives. We call this the
Innovation Mindset, and it influences the development of all our
education programmes.
Persistence is a very important part of the Innovation Mindset because
it teaches children to recover from setbacks and overcome difficulties to
reach their goals.Because our programmes develop determination through
a “create, test and retest” way of learning, students build the strength
and confidence to take on any challenges that stand in their way.

One summer during high school, my mom volunteered me to help
Grandpa research our family tree. It’s terrible to imagine hours spent
dusting boxes and listening to boring stories about people I didn’t
know.“You’ll be surprised,” my mom promised.“Family history
can be very interesting.”
In truth, Grandpa didn’t want to limit my work to just research,
hoping to also keep our family memories. He’d discovered a computer
program that helped digitally scan old pictures and letters to maintain their
contents before they crumble from age.Grandpa wanted me to help him
connect the scanner and set up the computer program. He could type
documents and send emails, but had never used a scanner.
Soon after, I became interested my relatives’ lives.I asked
Grandpa to tell the story behind every picture and letter we scanned. The
stories, which turned out not to be boring at all, helped me not only
understand but also relate to my relatives.I became so eager for more
information that Grandpa needed additional props (道具) to keep me
satisfied. He showed me a chest filled with random stuff, all covered in
dust.
Looking through their belongings, I felt I was opening a window to
the world of my relatives, a world long since gone.Grandpa showed me
letters he had sent to Grandma from the front line of World War Ⅱ and I
could almost smell the gunpowder.I turned the pages of my great-
grandmother’s recipe book and could picture her cooking in her
kitchen. All of the people who had been only names to me now had faces
to match.
Later, Grandpa admitted,“I probably could have done this project
myself.I just wanted someone to share it with.” I can’t thank him
enough for sharing the experience and making me appreciate the family
members who have made me who I am.

A recent study on parents who beat their children indicated that
physical punishment still happens far more frequently than previously (先
前地) thought but that physical punishment was ineffective.73 per cent
of the children who were hit waited less than 10 minutes before acting out
again.
Many parents deal with their children’s mistakes by taking away
toys and separating them from their playmates. But for strong-willed kids
like I was, none of these methods were effective.
Like many kids, I wasn’t bad; I was bored.Fortunately, my
father realized this fairly early and developed a new form of “discipline
(原则)” that produced immediate results and long-term positive
effects.
Looking back as an adult, my father’s method of making me read
the encyclopedia (百科全书) whenever I did something wrong was the
best thing he could have done.
He would tell me a topic and say, “Learn about the aardvark (土
豚) and I’m going to test you shortly after.” It was punishment in the
sense that I was forced to stop whatever I was doing, but it also had a
purpose in that it kept my mind occupied and presented the type of mental
challenge I clearly lacked.
Although unwillingly, I went to learn absolutely everything there to
know about aardvarks because I was going to figure out every question he
could throw at me.If it weren’t for my driving need to prove him
wrong, it may not have worked as well as it did.
So that’s just it: It was effective. It helped me change my behavior
in that moment and it conditioned me to seek out books when I was
bored.Obviously, that happened frequently and apparently and it
worked.I grew up to become a successful lawyer and a famous writer as
well.To this day, Dad’s the only one who can beat me.

D
The week my eldest son finished pre-school education, I decided to
clear out the playroom filled with his toys.Toys had kept him company
whenever his mother and I were busy with other duties, and over the
years we had collected a really large number of them. Here are some of
what I found: 13 puzzles, 4 games for practising maths, and a speaker
box that could play Mozart to develop musical ability.
Our masses of playthings may have been extreme, but it was by no
means unusual.American families spend, on average, around 600
dollars every year on toys; a 10-year-old child in the UK may have
owned 238 toys, totaling about 6,500 pounds.
During the past two centuries, educators, toy companies and
parents like us have acted as if the purpose of play is to prepare children
for adulthood. The more book learning we could pack up as play, and
then give to our children, the better. Then, in the second half of the
20th century, toys were increasingly bought for the purpose of building
better brains in order to build more competitive and successful grown-
ups.By 2020, the different kinds of educational toys had made nearly
$65 billion worldwide.Toys that teach — from the Speak & Spell to the
See & Say — are now a part of many young lives.
“This generation of parents is asking toys to provide an end
product, and that end product is success,” Richard Gottlieb, an
influential toy industry advisor, commented.“They want toys to get
their children into Harvard.”
“The model has been, ‘If I get toys that do schoolish things,
then that’s good,’” Alison Gopnik, a leading developmental
psychologist, said.“But that really goes against what the developmental
science is telling us.For a long time, we’ve been getting our children,
and their toys, all wrong.”

would 47 me not to drive too fast.If I were 80 and she were still
alive, I would be getting the 48 warning. No matter what the age,
a child is a child.

I am sorry to hear that you are going through a hard time at the
moment. The truth is that a number of students are under stress when
entering senior high school, so there is no need for you to feel
anxious. Here I’d like to offer you some useful suggestions.
First of all, try to put yourself into your parents’ shoes, then you
will understand why they expect so much of you — maybe they wish you

A Bowl of Noodles
Jenny was the only child in her home. She had a quarrel with her mother that afternoon and she ran out of the house angrily. She couldn’t help crying sadly when she thought of the scolding from her mother.Having wandered aimlessly in the street for hours, she felt a little hungry and wished for something to eat, but it was not even possible for her, since she had nothing with her.She stood beside a stand for a while, watching the middle-aged seller busy doing his business. However, with no money in hand, she sighed and had to leave.
The seller behind the stand noticed the young girl and asked,
“Hey, girl, you want to have the noodles?”
“Oh, yes ...but I don’t have money on me ...” she replied.
“That’s nothing.I’ll treat you today,” said the man. “Come
in.”
The seller brought her a bowl of noodles, whose smell was so
attractive.Jenny thanked the man and started to gobble (狼吞虎咽) up
the delicious food ... then cried silently.
“What is it?” asked the man kindly.
“Nothing, actually I was moved by your kindness!” said Jenny
as she wiped her tears.“Even a stranger on the street will give me a bowl
of noodles, while my mother drove me out of the house. She showed no
care for me.She is so mean and cruel!”
Hearing the words, the seller smiled, “Girl, do you really think
so? I only gave you a bowl of noodles and you thanked me a lot.But it is
your mother who has raised you since you were a baby. Can you number
the times that she has cooked for you? Have you expressed your thanks to
her?”
Jenny sat there, speechless and numb with shock; she remembered
her mother’s familiar face and weathered hands.“Why did I not think of
that? A bowl of noodles from a stranger made me feel grateful, but I
have never thanked my mum for what she has done for me.”
On the way home, Jenny made up her mind to make an apology to
her mother for her rudeness as soon as she arrived home.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
Approaching the doorway, Jenny took a deep breath.

A gentle touch on her hair called her mind back.

Approaching the doorway, Jenny took a deep breath. When she
knocked at the door, she found the door was locked and her mother was
not in.Tired and sad, she sat down in front of the house.“Where could
my mother be?” she wondered.“Was she still angry with me?”
Again, the scene of the quarrel appeared in her mind. She remembered
her rudeness to her mother.Realizing that all the scolding from her mother
was due to the fact that her mother really cared a lot about her, she felt
rather ashamed, and tears began to roll down her cheeks.
A gentle touch on her hair called her mind back. She raised her head
and saw the familiar face of her mother.“Here you come! I’ve been
looking for you,” she said, tired and relieved.Jenny couldn’t help
throwing herself into her mother’s arms.“Mum, I’m so sorry and
thank you for all you have done for me.” She expressed her sincere
apology and great gratitude.Hearing this, her mother smiled patting her
back gently.
