Step 1 Review and check
1. Greeting.
2. Check their preview homework.
1) Let some of the Ss read the words and then teach the words.
2) Work in groups to exchange and discuss the meaning of the text.
3) Ask some of them to show their results.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Talk about with a map of China in pairs.
Ask and answer about the three countries we have learned in this unit using the map of the world.
T: What country is east of China?
Ss: Canada and the U.S.
T: Do you know what country is south of Canada?
Ss: Yes, it’s the U.S. / The U.S. is south of Canada.
T: Is the U.K. south of China?
Ss: No, it isn’t. T: Where is the U.K.?
Ss: It is west of China.
T: Is it far from our country?
Ss: Yes, very far.

Step 3 Listen and read
1. Part 1: Play the tape with their eyes closed first, then listen to the tape with their eyes open and repeat.
