Step I Review
Ask the students to talk about their ambitions.

Five minutes later, ask several students to read out the ambition paper she or he got.
Step II Listen and answer
Play the tape for the students to listen with the question: What is Wang Mei’s goal?

1. Read and answer
Ask the students to read the text carefully. Then work in groups and answer the questions in Activity Book 3.
2. Read and underline

choice的常用用法:
表示“选择”、“抉择”,可用作可数或不可数名词。
Eg: You have your choice.
你有自己的选择自由。
He is faced with a difficult choice.
他面临困难的抉择。
【注意】表示做出选择,通常用动词make.
习惯搭配: make a choice/choices 做出选择
Eg: We each had to make a choice.
我们每个人都得做出抉择。(2) 用于have no choice but to do sth.意为“除做……之
外,别无选择”或“只好做”。
Eg: I have no choice but to accept the fact.
我只有承认事实。
He has no choice but to go with them.
他没办法只好跟着他们一起去。
He had no choice but to resign.
他除了辞职别无选择。
We had no choice but to do what we were asked
to do.
我们只好照办。1. The main thing is to know yourself and to choose the
right path for you.
choose sth. for sb. 为某人选择某物
Eg: He choose a bunch of flower for his girlfriend.
他为女朋友选了一束花。
yourself :为反身代词,表示反射或强调,意为“自己;
本身;亲自”。反身代词与他所指代的名词或代词形成
互指关系,在人称,性质,数上应保持一致。反身代词作宾语,表示主语和宾语是同一(或同一些)人或事物。
Eg: Jenny bought herself a nice dress as a birthday gift.
(2) 作同位语,常用来加强语气。
Eg: I can do it myself.(3) 含反身代词的常用词组:
teach oneself 自学
learn by oneself 自学
enjoy oneself 玩得高兴,过得愉快
help oneself 随便吃/用
by oneself 独自2. She is strict but nice.
strict 是形容词,意为“严厉的,严格的”,可作表语
也可作定语。
Eg: Our head teacher is very strict, but we still need many
strict rules.
我们的班主任很严格,但我们还需要许多严格的制度。
(2) 常见短语be strict with sb. 意为“对某人严格要求”;
be strict in (doing) sth.意为“对(做)某事严格要求”。
Eg: Mr. Smith is very strict with his children.
史密斯先生对他的孩子们要求十分严格。
We should be strict in (doing) our work.
对工作我们应该严格要求。3. What are you going to be when you’re older?
在when引导的时间状语从句中,常使用一般现在时表示将来。
Eg: I’ll go on with the work when I come back tomorrow.
明天我回来会继续做着工作的。
I will think of you when I wear it.
穿这件衣服的时候我会想起你的。4. ① …when you’re older, Danny?
② Are you taller this year?
英语的形容词有原级,比较级和最高级三种形式。
表示“比……更……一些”的概念时,用比较级。
Eg: Danny is much taller this year.
丹尼今年更高一些了。
(1) 特殊的比较级变化需要记忆:
good-better far-farther
bad-worse old-older(elder)
little-less many(much)-more
(2) 形容词比较级的一般变化形容词的比较级Practice 一、用适当形式填空:
