As an athlete,Mike had been practising hard.He preferred to play basketball rather than stay indoors in his free time.Mike had a strong desire to play for his team. However,he was usually on the bench,as a replacement.
Once two players crashed into each other during a game and one of them was badly hurt. The team quickly gathered around and the doctor put an ice pack on the player’s knee.In that case, the coach had to let Mike play,so Mike rushed onto the court. All the extra hours that he’d spent practising alone paid off.The other team just couldn’t keep up with his energy and speed. The audience couldn’t stop clapping and cheering. At last, they became the champion and Mike earned his place on the team!
To keep in good shape,Mike always keeps a balanced diet and does many other sports such as jogging, cycling and boxing.Every time he is fed up with studying,he runs on the track in the park, which can strengthen his immune system and relieve him of some aches. To be a runner, one doesn’t need any special equipment. But do remember to do some warm-up activities before running, which will prevent you from being injured. If you keep it up,you will be amazed at the benefits it brings to you!

With the arrival of winter, the world is covered in a sheet of shining snow, and it brings an invitation to take part in exciting snow sports.Beyond the great wonderland and the great joy of sliding down hills, attending winter sports offers many physical, mental, and social benefits.
Taking part in winter snow sports is an excellent way to stay physically active during the colder months.Whether you’re skiing down a mountainside,or skiing along peaceful paths, these activities provide a full-body workout.Downhill skiing, for example,is known as a way to burn a lot of calories, making it an effective cardiovascular(心血管的) exercise. The combination of cardio and strength training can help keep a healthy weight, improve cardiovascular health, and keep overall physical health.
The connection between outdoor activities and mental health is well-established,and winter sports are no exception. The fresh mountain air,the amazing snowy hills, and the excitement of rushing down the hill all help to improve the feelings.Snow sports also get you in natural sunlight, which helps increase Vitamin D levels.

If you often exercise, there is a good chance for you to be more creative, according to a study of the links between physical activity and imagination. The study finds that active people come up with more and better ideas during tests of their inventiveness.
It has been proved that physical activity influences our thinking. Many studies show that our brains go through changes in response to physical activity, for during exercise our brains take in more blood, oxygen and nutrients, thus producing more new brain cells(细胞) than those who don’t exercise. In this way, exercise raises our moods(情绪) and is likely to improve our abilities to reason and remember.
However, creativity is an abstract(抽象的) thinking skill, whose relationship with exercise has not been clear. Some past research suggested exercise does not directly affect creative thinking.
To learn more about how being active could possibly affect creativity, researchers at the University of Graz tracked the normal activities of a group of healthy adults. They equipped these volunteers with activity trackers for five days. Then they asked them to visit the lab and finish some creative tasks. The researchers then rated their output on its creativity and other measures. The volunteers also completed standardized questionnaires about their moods.
The scientists found that the most active of the volunteers proved to be also the most creative, especially if they often walked or exercised properly. They are also likely to be in high spirits, although their moods were highest if they took part in energetic activities, rather than average ones. However, the link between activity, creativity and moods was light. This suggested that it was not improved moods, but physical activity, that had a greater influence on creativity.
The study didn’t take people’s whole lives into account and cannot tell us how exercise and other activities might shape creativity,if not by raising moods. But the results do suggest that active imaginations start with active lives.

A.Those doing more energetic exercise are the most creative.
B.People’s moods are closely connected with their creativity.
C.Exercise plays a more important role in shaping creativity.

根据第五段中“However, the link between activity, creativity and moods was light. This suggested that it was not improved moods, but physical activity, that had a greater influence on creativity.”

The benefits of winter snow sports spread far beyond the excitement of downhill drops.Winter activities not only keep you physically fit but also benefit your mental well-being and provide chances for social communication.

5.What change does physical activity bring to our brains
A.Making more brain cells.
B.Responding to thinking.
C.Supplying more nutrients.
D.Increasing blood pressure.

根据第二段中“Many studies show that our brains go through changes in response to physical activity, for during exercise our brains take in more blood, oxygen and nutrients, thus producing more new brain cells(细胞) than those who don’t exercise.” 故选A项。

A.Those doing more energetic exercise are the most creative.
B.People’s moods are closely connected with their creativity.

根据第五段中“However, the link between activity, creativity and moods was light. This suggested that it was not improved moods, but physical activity, that had a greater influence on creativity.”
