“介词+关系代词”和whose引导的定语从句
一、基本构成
在“介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句中,关系代词指物用which,指人用whom,不可用that或who代替which或whom。

你认识正和我们老师谈话的那个女孩吗?
He handed me a pen with which I wrote down his phone number.
他递给我一支钢笔,我用它记下了他的电话号码。
二、介词的选用原则
介词的选用可以遵循“一名二动三逻辑”的原则。
(1)“一名”——依据与先行词搭配的具体意义而定。
I’ll never forget the farm on which I spent my childhood in the country.
我永远不会忘记我度过童年时光的那个乡下的农场。
I still remember the day on which I graduated from college.
我仍然记得我大学毕业的那一天。
(2)“二动”——依据定语从句中动词或形容词等所需要的某种习惯搭配来确定。
Yesterday we visited the West Lake for which Hangzhou is known.
昨天我们游览了西湖,杭州因其而出名。
This is the book about which we talked yesterday.
这就是我们昨天谈论过的那本书。
(3)“三逻辑”——根据从句表达的意义和先行词的逻辑关系来确定。
The colorless gas without which we cannot live is called oxygen.
这种无色的、离开它我们就无法生存的气体叫作氧气。
Mr Field graduated in 2009,after which he entered a famous IT company.
菲尔德先生毕业于2009年,之后他进入了一家著名的IT公司。
三、“介词+关系代词”的特殊用法
(1)有些“动词+介词”构成的短语如look for,look after,call on等,如果将介词提前,那么动词短语将会失去意义,所以不可把介词置于关系代词前。

The babies whom the nurses are looking after are healthy.
护士们正照看的婴儿都很健康。
(2)关系副词有时可用“介词+which”来替换。
The reason for which(=why) he refused the invitation is not clear.
他拒绝这个邀请的理由还不清楚。
Great changes have taken place in the city in which(=where) I was born.
我出生的那个城市已经发生了巨大的变化。
(3)the way后定语从句的关系词。
the way作先行词,后接定语从句时,若关系词在从句中作状语,则用that/in which,也可省略关系词;若关系词在从句中作主语、宾语等,则用which/that,作宾语时可省略关系词。

他对待孩子们的方式非常好。

四.whose引导的定语从句
当定语从句的主语和先行词构成所属关系时,常常用whose引导定语从句。whose既可以指人,也可以指物。“whose+n.”可以转换成“of which/whom+the+n.”或者“the+n.+of which/whom”结构。
Wolves are highly social animals whose success depends upon cooperation.

Hiao Khanh,29,is a member of the Community Malaria(疟疾) Action Team in Chu’ Rcǎm commune,Kr ng pa district,Gia Lai Province,which is known for having the highest number of malaria cases in Vietnam.In 2020,more than 200 cases were reported across the district.

介词的选用可以遵循“一名二动三逻辑”的原则。
(1)“一名”——依据与先行词搭配的具体意义而定。

三、“介词+关系代词”的特殊用法
(1)有些“动词+介词”构成的短语如look for,look after,call on等,如果将介词提前,那么动词短语将会失去意义,所以不可把介词置于关系代词前。
