Lake Cildir
Lake Cildir is located in the Ardahan Province，east Turkey, near the borders with Georgia and Armenia.It is a large freshwater lake of eastern Turkey, and many tourists are not aware of this beautiful attraction.Lake Cildir is surrounded by mountains of the Caucasus.The lake freezes during late November.If the winter is not extremely cold, you can try some lake activities like ice skating and ice fishing.
Lake Van
Lake Van is the must visit of all lakes in this list, the largest lake in Turkey.Lake Van is located on the eastern shore of Turkey and is also the most accessible lake there.It's situated 5,380 ft above sea level, and unique to many lakes around the world, the water is high in salt content.

Eight years ago, Al Nixon decided to begin each day from a bench with a spectacular view of St.Petersburg's waterfront in Florida.“I call it ‘life rising’ because watching a sunrise makes me feel positive and centered before I start my day，” says Nixon, who works for the city's water department.It is Nixon's own version of daily motivation.
A year later, a woman stopped to say hello, and she said something that changed his perspective on his daily ritual.“She said, ‘You know, every morning when I see you sitting here, I know that everything is going to be OK，’” Nixon recalls.“That was when I knew: I needed to pay attention to the people walking past.I needed to make eye contact and let people know that we matter to each other.”
Instead of staring straight ahead at the waterfront, Nixon started smiling at people and striking up conversations.And pretty soon, more than a few early risers began joining him on the bench, sometimes unburdening themselves and telling him their relationship, career or personal problems.“I was happy to listen.I wanted them to walk away knowing they didn't have to feel lonely，” Nixon, now 59, says.“When you're in your 50s and 60s or beyond, a lot of people feel their purpose hasn't been fulfilled.At this stage in life, this is definitely my purpose.”

Like colourful corals, they rocked gently in the ocean current.Only these were not beautiful natural reefs grown over centuries.They were plastic bags, stuck to the Aegean Sea floor since a waste site slid into the water eight years ago.
A team of divers and environmentalists pulled thousands of plastic bags from the water near Greece's Andros Island.The workers described what they found as a “gulf full of plastic corals”．
Seas polluted with plastic have become one of the most shocking signs of human damage to the planet.“It was a very scary thing to see，”said Arabella Ross, a volunteer diver with Aegean Rebreath.The group carries out underwater and coastal clean ups.“It really shook me and I think it really shook everyone who saw it，” she added.
The Mediterranean is among the seas with the highest levels of plastic pollution in the world, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) said in a report in June, 2019.Greece produces about 700,000 tons of plastic waste a year, or about 68 kilos per person.About 11,500 tons enter its seas every year.Almost 70% of that returns to the Greek coast, one of the longest in the world.The sea pollution off Andros is thought to date back to 2011, when heavy rain caused a waste site to collapse.Most of the waste fell into the sea.
Aegean Rebreath divers removed blue, black and yellow plastic bags caught between reefs and among fish.“It was like the wonders of the Caribbean Sea, where you find coral reefs everywhere of every colour.It was the exact same thing, but instead of corals it was bags，”diver Arabella Ross said.
The team managed to remove only a small part of the plastic waste they found.They also pulled up 300 kilograms of old fishing traps — known as “ghost nets” — from Andros.In a separate operation in June off Salamina, a small island near Athens, they removed two tons.
“If people are wondering where their rubbish ends up, we see it each time we go into the water，” Ross said.

The discovery of the ruined palace in the Mosul Dam reservoir on the banks of the Tigris River inspired an archeological dig that would improve understanding of the Mittani Empire, one of the least researched empires of the ancient Near East, a team of German researchers said.“The find is one of the most important archeological discoveries in the region in recent decades，” Kurdish archeologist Hasan Qasim said.
The palace would have originally stood just 65 feet from the river on a terrace (梯田)．A terrace wall of mud bricks was later added to make the building stable.Ivana Puljiz, an archeologist from the University of Tübingen's Institute for Ancient Near Eastern Studies, describes the palace, known as Kemune, as a carefully designed building with mud brick walls up to 2 meters (6.6 feet) thick.
The team also found wall paintings in shades of red and blue, which were probably a common feature of palaces at the time but have rarely been found preserved.“Discovering wall paintings in Kemune is an archeological sensation (轰动)，” Puljiz said in a press release, “Kemune is only the second site in the region where wall paintings of the Mittani period have been discovered.”
Ten clay tablets covered in cuneiform (楔形文字), an ancient system of writing, were also discovered and have been sent to Germany for translation.“From the texts we hope to gain information on the inner structure of the Mittani Empire, its economic organization, and the relationship of the Mittani capital with the administrative centers in the neighboring regions，” Puljiz added.
Archeologists first became aware of the site in 2010 when water levels in the reservoir were low, but this is the first time they have been able to dig.However, the site was submerged (淹没) shortly after the dig, Puljiz said, adding, “It is unclear when it will come out of water again.”

The discovery of the ruined palace in the Mosul Dam reservoir on the banks of the Tigris River inspired an archeological dig that would improve understanding of the Mittani Empire, one of the least researched empires of the ancient Near East, a team of German researchers said.“The find is one of the most important archeological discoveries in the region in recent decades，” Kurdish archeologist Hasan Qasim said.
