Mia, a ninth-grade girl, often forgot what she had learned. She wanted to be able to remember everything from class, so she decided to ask her teacher for help. And Min's teacher advised her to try some learning habits and see if they would help her.
The first learning habit was practicing. Mia wanted to get good at spelling, so she practiced spelling words whenever she had time. She noticed she was getting better and better every week.
Mia also tried paying attention in class. She stopped talking to her friends and started listening to the teacher more carefully. When she paid attention, she realized she understood more of what was being taught.
Taking breaks was another learning habit Mia tried. She found that she felt exhausted after a long time of studying. Taking a break and walking around for a few minutes helped her feel refreshed and ready to learn more.

According to Allan Pease, writer of Body Language in the Workplace, our ability to express ourselves can influence our success. Having spent much of his time studying the communication skills of adults, Mr. Pease is now turning his attention to education to education of the importance of understanding body language.
