My favorite Chinese festival is the Dragon Boat Festival. It falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month every year. It’s a day to remember Qu Yuan, a great poet.
On this day people usually eat zongzi and hold dragon boat races. They also drink realgar wine, hang Chinese mugwort(艾草) around the doors and carry a spice bag around with them.
What makes the festival special for me is the dragon boat race. The members of the dragon boat team have such great team spirit — everybody tries their best to win the race. It is very exciting and interesting. So my favorite Chinese festival is the Dragon Boat Festival.

Several days before the festival, people usually clean and decorate their houses because it is a time for washing away bad things. On the eve of the Spring Festival, people usually get together to have a big meal. Dumplings are the most popular food. After dinner, it is great fun for people to watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV. During the festival, people always visit their relatives and friends.
