教学目标
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1.Knowledge objectives: Master the key words of this lesson; 2.Skill objectives:understand the dialogue of parents' instructions to children and obtain information; 3.Emotional objectives:Learn to listen to other people's experiences at home alone and understand their emotions; 4.Thinking quality objectives:describe the experience of being alone at home with others through relevant words and expressions.
教学内容
教学重点: 1.Master the key words and expressions of this lesson;
2. Listen and understand the dialogue of parents' instructions to children and obtain information; 3.Talk about personal experiences of being home alone
教学难点: 1. describe personal experiences of being home alone with others through relevant words and expressions; 2.learn to listen to other people's experiences at home alone and understand their feelings and emotions;
3. Know how the words are linked and can read correctly.
教学过程
Step 1 Look and guess (pre-listening) Look at the three people in the picture and guess who they are and where they are. Step 2 Listening 1. Listen to a conversation between Betty and her parents and answer the questions.(Activity2) 1) Where are Betty and her parents 2) Where are they leaving for 3) Is Betty travelling with her parents Keys: 1. At the railway station; 2.Lhasa; 3.No, she isn’t. 2. Listen again and complete the sentences.(Activity3) Will you be OK at home __________ 2) I’ll ______ you too, and I’ll call you every day. 3) I’ll keep it tidy so that you’ll ___________ me when you get home. Keys: on your own, miss, be proud of Let’s talk. Talk about your own experiences of home alone with partner. Do you have the experience of staying at home alone How do you feel about staying at home alone What can/will you do if you stay at home alone 4.Listen to another conversation between Betty and her parents and answer the questions.(Activity4) Why were Betty’s parents going to Lhasa Why didn't Betty go with her parents Keys: 1. B.Attend a meeting 2. C. She had to attend school. 5. Listen and complete. ⑴ Listen again and complete the sentences.(Activity4) Key: meeting, miss, door, shut, lock, look after, easy, fresh fruit and vegetables, biscuits, simple meals, wake up, clock, loudly. ⑵ Think about: What can we learn from Betty’s parents’ caring words What can we learn from Betty’s reply Possible keys: As parents, they always care too much about their children.They are worried about children’s study, health as well as safety when they are out. They are willing to(愿意) do almost everything for their chidren to show their deep love. Betty wants to comfort(使宽心) her parents and reduce their worries. She feels excited of being home alone. Meanwhile, she is confident about herself of being home alone well, because she wants to be independent(独立的) . Listen and mark. Listen and mark the words which the speaker links. 1. Be especially careful with the door. Shut it when you’re in and lock it when you go out. 2. I can look after myself, although it won’t be easy for me. 3. I’m sure I’ve forgotton something, but I don’t know what it is! Keys: Step 3 Post-listening 1.Think about: What else will your parents be worried about when you’re at home alone Possible keys: study:finish homework on time/do some reading.../ health: go to bed early and get up early/ never stay up late/do sports to keep healthy/have a balanced diet(均衡饮食).../ safety:be careful of electricity/never open the door for strangers.../mobile phone: use it correctly/do some meaningful things... 2. Pair work. Interview your partner: How can you look after yourself when you are staying at home alone Example: A: Hello. How can you look after yourself when you are staying at home alone B: Although I am staying at home alone, I can... A: How will you make sure you wake up in the morning B: My clock rings so loudly that... A: Can you cook simple meals B: Yes, I can. .../No, I can’t. Although I can’t cook, I can... A: If a stranger knocks at your door, what will you do B: I will... A: How will you keep in touch with your parents B: I will... ....... Step 4 Homework 1. must do Listen and imitate the dialogue three times. 2. may do Write a short passage to describe your experience at being home alone. Teacher: If you are staying at home alone, do remember:We should learn to look after ourselves and live independently(独立地).We should learn to protect ourselves and keep safe.
