教学内容
教学重点： 1. To use some reading strategies to get a better understanding of the reading material. 2. To ask questions about sports. 教学难点： 1. To perceive the spirit of the Paralympic Games beyond the lines of the reading material.
2. To make a report of the sports survey.
教学过程
Step1. Around the world Activity1 Lead in Show students the picture in around the world, and ask the following questions. Q1: What are they doing in the picture？ Q2: What are the Paralympic Games Activity 2 Read the material and answer the questions. Q1: What are they doing in the picture？ Q2: What are the Paralympic Games Activity3 Read and fill in the blanks Activity4 Read and think Q1: Why did Ludwig Guttmann set up the Paralympic Games for the athletes with disabilities ？ Q2: What can we learn from the athletes of the Paralympic Games？ Step 2. Make a class sports survey Activity1 Have a discussion What questions will you ask your classmates about sports Activity2 Work in groups. Write questions in the table to find out the sports that your classmates like to watch and do. Activity3 Go around and ask as many students as you can. Write their answers in the table. Activity4 Write up the results of your survey. Use words like and, although, but, etc. Activity5 Show Lingling’s survey Activity6 Show Lingling’s report Yesterday I made a survey about sports among five people. Here is the result. Although most of the people I spoke like sports, only one person does sports four times a week and trains hard for it. Three people do sports once a week and one person does sports twice a week. The most popular sport is basketball. Three people like playing basketball. One person likes playing table tennis. And these four people like team sports. One person likes running alone. Three people thinks it is important to do sports, because sports can bring them success and make them strong and happy. But two people don’t think so. They think sports take a lot of time and they may get hurt when doing sports. All in all, sports play an important role in our life and it is good for us to do sports regularly. Step3.
