so…that… such…that… too…to…
1. so…that…
The water is so hot that I can not drink it.
The room is so small that we can’t fit a desk.
He ran so fast that I couldn’t catch up.
特殊情况(名词前有many/much/few/little):
so + many/much/few/little + 名词 + that + 从句
例:There are so many people that we can’t move.
The movie is ______ (interesting) ______ all of us want to watch it again.
The rain fell ______ (heavily) ______ the streets were flooded.
There are ______ (many) students in the hall ______ it’s hard to move.
We have ______ (little) time ______ we need to hurry.
答案:
1. so; that 2. so; that; 3. so; that(many 修饰名词,用 so); 4. so; that(little 修饰名词,用 so)
2. such…that…
可数名词单数:such + a/an + 形容词 + 名词 + that + 从句
例:It’s such a cold day that we stay indoors.
They are such interesting books that I read them twice.
3. too…to…
The box is too heavy for me to carry.
4. …enough to…
She is old enough to drive.
He is not tall enough to reach the shelf.
so…that…:The child is so young that he can’t cross the road alone.
such…that…:He is such a young child that he can’t cross the road alone.
too…to…:The child is too young to cross the road alone.
…enough to…:The child is not old enough to cross the road alone.
so…that…:______
such…that…:______
too…to…:______
…enough to…:______
答案:
The problem is so difficult that he can't work it out.
It is such a difficult problem that he can't work it out.
The problem is too difficult for him to work out.
The problem is not easy enough for him to work out.
是 → so…that…/such…that…;
否 → too…to…/…enough to…。
区分so和such:
so + 形容词/副词(如so big);
such + (a/an) + 形容词 + 名词(如such a big apple)。
