Andy Kong has worked very hard to get to where he is today. He credits becoming a millionaire by 20 to his strict Asian parents who tutored him at a young age by working for the family.

Andy started his Amazon business in the eighth grade. When he learned about Amazon Dropshipping(代发货模式) from a kid he saw on social media,he got inspired and decided to give it a try.Unfortunately, the store eventually got shut down because he was impatient with the growth.Instead of considering it a failure,he viewed this experience as a life lesson and learned from his mistakes.Meanwhile, his parents never stopped trying to talk him into focusing on school and their retail business.
“The biggest challenge when starting a business is getting someone to believe in you,” Andy says.He pushed through and did things for himself even when his loved ones discouraged it.
In 2019,Andy met his now business partners, and together, they created an Amazon management company called Project WiFi.This Project has proven to be extremely successful. They currently help over 55 clients run their online businesses, and plan to help many more in the future.
When asked about the secret to his success,Andy says,“Learning to sacrifice whether that's family, friends,or soccer game for a single goal is the only way to succeed, rather than attempting multiple things. If it's worth doing, then it's worth doing well with no shortcuts.”

A cap and trade system is a method for managing pollution, with the end goal of reducing the overall pollution in a nation, region,or industry. Many supporters of pollution control are in favor of the concept of such systems, arguing that well-designed cap and trade systems are extremely effective, and that they make sense economically as well.
Under a cap and trade system,a government authority first sets a cap, deciding how much pollution in total will be allowed.Next, companies are issued credits, essentially licenses to pollute, based on how large they are, what industries they work in,and so forth. If a company comes in below its cap,it has extra credits that it may trade with other companies.
For companies that come in below their caps, this system is great, because they can sell their extra credits, profiting while reducing their pollution. For companies that cannot get their pollution under control, the system punishes them for their excess pollution while still bringing overall pollution rates down.In a sense, the need to purchase credits acts as a fine, encouraging companies to reduce their emissions.
By creating a cap, nations make it clear that they want to reduce overall emissions, rather than just fining companies for excessive emissions or trying to force all companies to reduce their emissions by a set percentage.Cap and trade systems allow for flexibility, which usually benefits the market. Some people view the concept as preferable to a taxation or fining system, because it is easier to administer and it results in a pollution reduction. These systems are most commonly used for carbon emissions, leading people to refer to it as “carbon trading”,and there is a potential for a global carbon trading market,in which more efficient nations could trade credits with other countries.
8.What can be inferred about the cap and trade system
A.It can greatly promote economy in a nation.
B.It will soon be welcomed by all companies.
C.It is well-designed and extremely effective.
D.It is environmentally and economically friendly.
9.What kind of companies can trade their extra credits
A.Those who always have more extra credits.
B.Those whose overall pollution is below their caps.
C.Those who have never been fined for overall pollution.
D.Those who help other companies reduce their pollution.
10.What do we learn from the last paragraph
A.All the pollution will be reduced by the cap and trade system.
B.Carbon trading is likely to be conducted among countries.
C.Carbon trading is more effective than the cap and trade system.
D.The taxation and fining system now is out of use.
11.What is the passage mainly about
A.The use of credits in reducing pollution.
B.Efficient ways to manage overall pollution.
C.An introduction of the cap and trade system.
D.Potential application of the cap and trade system.

Many people often find themselves considering jobs below their skill level in worsening employment markets. But it turns out that working in a job below your skill level harms your later chances of getting hired for a better-paying job more appropriate to your qualifications.
Sociologist David Pedulla at the University of Texas conducted a study to examine how jobs below a person's skill level affect future employability. He tailored 2,420 applications and submitted them to 1,210 job listings posted in five major cities across the U.S.He varied the applications by gender, and also by employment status for the previous year. Then he used computer models to analyze and compare the results. The results show that applicants who were positioned as working below their skill level, regardless of gender, had the lowest chances of getting called for a job interview.
These results should serve as a warning to anyone considering taking a job below their skill level. While it might pay the bills in the short term,it can significantly hammer one's ability to return to the relevant skill level and pay grade at a later date.
Why might this be the case Pedulla conducted a follow-up study with 903 employers. He asked them about their ideas of applicants with each kind of employment history, and how likely they would be to recommend each kind of candidate to an interview. The results show that employers believe that men who are employed in positions below their skill level are less committed and less competent than men in other employment situations. Those surveyed also believed that women working below their skill level were less competent than others, but did not believe them to be less committed.
The results of studies suggest that work below skill level signals to employers men's incompetence and a lack of commitment. This is a disturbing reminder that the sword of gender bias(偏见) does in fact cut both ways.
12.Why do many people choose jobs below their skill level
A.They fear bearing duties.
B.They lack self-confidence.
C.They face a tough economy.
D.They pursue better-paying jobs.
13.How do the researchers carry out the first study
A.By conducting interviews.
B.By researching examples.
C.By making comparisons.
D.By doing surveys.
14.Which of the following can best replace the underlined word “hammer” in paragraph 3
A.Ensure. B.Weaken.
C.Test. D.Exercise.
15.What is the employers' idea according to the follow-up study
A.Men are more likely to get promoted.
B.Women are more devoted and capable.
C.Women behave better in jobs below there skill level.
D.Men show talents in work of the relevant level.

Three months later was the Middle School Championship Baseball Game of the spring season! The winners would all get trophies(奖杯),Jonas was determined to bring home a trophy to put on his shelf for he had never won one before.
He insisted on practicing in the stadium with friends every day.Day in and day out,the gloves became worn-out.Jonas thought,“I want a pair of new baseball gloves for better practice!”
Jonas passed by a store and saw a pair of delicate gloves, which cost thirty-five dollars. But when Jonas asked for the new baseball gloves, his mother only sighed.“Your birthday isn't until July,” she said.“If you want the gloves sooner than that, you will have to buy it yourself. If you want something, earn it by yourself.”
Jonas thought hard.He was too young to drive to work like Dad,and he couldn't turn his bedroom into an office to work at home like Mom.He went to his favorite thinking spot to look at the bird feeder in his back yard.
As Jonas was thinking about getting a job,it began to snow.At first there were only a few flakes(雪花),but soon the ground turned white.
“I know!” cried Jonas.“I'll shovel(铲) the sidewalks on snow days.If I'm fast,I can do a lot of houses and make a lot of money.”
So Jonas put on his warmest sweater and fastened the button of his winter coat.He also added scarf, gloves and a hat. Then he went into the garage to grab a shovel.
Jonas started next door.He rang the bell and asked Mr Travers if he would like his sidewalks shoveled.“Yes,” said Mr Travers.“But you should wait until it stops snowing before you start or you will have to do it twice.”
“I'll be back!” said Jonas. He went around the block to see who would like their walks shoveled after the storm. He had eight customers by the time he got back to his own house.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
When it stopped snowing,Jonas grabbed his shovel and got to work.

When it stopped snowing,Jonas grabbed his shovel and got to work.Standing on Mr Travers' sidewalks, initially,Jonas was sort of clumsy, but soon he became so expert that it took only 20 minutes to shovel the snow.Soaked with sweat,he even took off his winter clothes. When Mr Travers handed Jonas a 5-dollar bill with satisfaction, his face cracked into a smile.Waving goodbye,Jonas continued to shovel snow for the remaining seven neighbors.Three hours flashed by before he knew it.With all the work finished, each neighbour praised him and gave him the reward, which added up to 40 dollars.
Tired but happy,Jonas looked at the forty dollars earned from his work. It was enough for the gloves.Hardly had Jonas taken the new baseball gloves in the store when he began to practice. His perfect performance won the opportunity to take part in the championship Baseball Game. His hard practice paid off.He and his friends won first prize. When he took his trophy home and put it on his shelf, his mother spotted he had become a maturer teenager, who could cope with problems life held in store for him.
