主谓一致(2)
1.分数或百分数修饰单数可数名词或不可数名词,谓语动词用单数形式;如果修饰的是复数名词,谓语动词就用复数形式;如果修饰的是集合名词,谓语动词也多用复数形式。
Two thirds of the land is covered with forests.
三分之二的土地被森林覆盖。
Two thirds of the students have passed the examinations.
三分之二的学生通过了考试。
2.先行词为one of...结构时,定语从句一般视为修饰复数名词,从句谓语动词一般用复数形式;如果先行词是the one of...或者the only one of...结构,定语从句则视为修饰单数名词,从句的谓语动词应用单数形式。

3.a number of...作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式;the number of...作主语时,谓语动用单数形式。a group of...作主语时,谓语动词既可用单数形式,也可用复数形式。

4.a great deal of...,a large amount of...,a quantity of...作主语时,谓语动词通常用单数形式;large amounts of...,large quantities of...作主语时,谓语动词通常用复数形式。

7.“all/half/some/a lot/plenty/any/part/the rest/most等+of...”作主语时,谓语动词要与of后面的名词的数保持一致。of后面是单数名词或不可数名词,谓语动词用单数形式;of后面是复数可数名词,谓语动词要用复数形式。
All of my colleagues were invited yesterday.

[名师点津] 当all/some/a lot/plenty/the rest/the most等单独作主语(即不跟of...)时,要根据它们表示的单复数意义确定谓语动词的单复数形式。

8.population作主语时,通常看作单数,若population前有分数、百分数,the greater part,the greatest part时,谓语动词通常用复数形式。

(1)如果被强调的成分是原来句子的主语,引导词that/who后面谓语的数与被强调的成分保持一致。

(2)倒装句中谓语动词的数与后面的主语保持一致,即谓语动词后面的主语是单数,谓语动词用单数形式;谓语动词后面的主语是复数,谓语动词就用复数形式。

Jimmy looked at Robutt,who was squeaking again,a very low,slow squeak that seemed frightened.Jimmy held out his arms and Robutt was in them in one bound .
Jimmy said,“What will the difference be between Robutt and the dog?”
“It's hard to explain,”said Mr Anderson,“but it will be easy to see.The dog will really love you.Robutt is just adjusted to act as though it loves you[11].”

Jimmy said,“What will the difference be between Robutt and the dog?”
“It's hard to explain,”said Mr Anderson,“but it will be easy to see.The dog will really love you.Robutt is just adjusted to act as though it loves you[11].”
