本单元主要学习过去进行时的用法。七年级下册学习过现在进行时,这会对学生学习过去进行时有一定的帮助,但学生在口头和笔头表达的时候经常忘记be动词或者忘了在动词后面-ing形式,所以对于基础比较薄弱的学生,教师需要从现在进行时入手,引导学生过渡到过去进行时的学习。本节课进一步加深和巩固本单元的话题内容,讲述一系列发生在过去某一时间的事情。
首先通过观察图片和标题,让学生了解本节课所学习的内容。然后通过细读中的不同阅读任务,提高学生的阅读技能。最后通过知识巩固,盘点收获。

这节课阅读课整体效果还不错。各目标达成度较高,学生积极性高,参与度较高。
通过图片引出新词,激发学生的兴趣。达成了词汇目标。
通过Fast reading中的问题,水到渠成的引出感谢信的写法。通过细读环节中的不同任务,提高他们的阅读技能。理解词语的词性,并利用词性解读词汇意思。
通过谈论马丁路德金遇害、9.11事件发生时普通民众在干什么来复习巩固过去进行时态。重点训练学生的阅读能力。读后的讨论小组活动效果不很好,今后要注意学生的合作意识。
观察与思考这一环节让学生自己观察总结很好,培养他们自学能力。但是涉及的知识点较少。
通过达标检测,盘点收获,可以看出学生能理解文章内容,并能运用。理解词语的词性,并利用词性解读词汇意思,课下应该再练习。

在教学中,教师在讲解英语知识时,要注意做到突出知识重点,狠抓基础。同时,教学设计和教学难度应该是面向全体学生,注意容量,把握节奏。做到备课先备人,因材施教,有的放矢,本节课的进程安排不太合理,在课堂上,有少数学生没有参与到学习活动中来。
