Bad moods (情绪) can be difficult for you and the people around you to deal with. However, people can’t be happy all the time, and it is normal to have bad moods. The best way to improve moods changes from person to person, but trying the following methods can help you find what works for you!
Do something you enjoy. This may sound unclear, but that’s partly because different people have different interests. The key point is that doing something you enjoy will improve your mood by cutting your stress. You know your own interests better than anyone else, so think about what makes you feel happy and allow yourself to do that thing.
Make yourself laugh. Laughing can actually change the chemistry in your body. Things that can make you laugh may include: talking to a funny friend, watching a humorous video or a funny TV show, reading funny articles and so on.
Exercise. There is a strong relation between exercise and moods. Most people experience an improved mood within 5 minutes of exercise. There are many different kinds of exercise, and anything that elevates your heart rate (心率) may improve your mood. You can choose running, swimming or dancing.
Eat a healthy meal or snack. When you are hungry, it is easy for you to get angry. So food has something to do with moods. Eating a healthy meal can make you feel healthier and happier. Fruit and vegetables are good choices. Getting healthy fats can also make you feel full longer. However, avoid fat-free foods. They often don’t have enough nutrition (营养) and may leave you feeling unhappy.
