In both novels and reality news, we read stories about the super-intelligent dolphins saving humans. Humans, in return, are also giving a helping hand to injured dolphins.
On April 7,2022, a gray male adult dolphin, about 2.6 meters long and weighing more than 180 kilograms, lost his way and was stranded (搁浅) on the shore near Qizi Bay, Hainan province. When people found him, he was badly hurt.
Luckily, he was saved and then taken to the marine (海洋) biology research base in Danzhou for further treatment. Medical workers tested his blood, gave physical examinations and medicines to his wounds right away. Due to the scrupulous care of the medical workers, who did their best to look after him all day and all night, the dolphin was out of danger. After more than two months, the dolphin’s health improved greatly.
During his gradual recovery, the medical workers put a swimming ring on him to help him float. When he got used to his own movements again, they moved him to a pool so that he could slowly get back to swimming freely. What’s more, to help him regain his hunting ability, they put live fish in the pool for him to hunt and eat. In this way, the dolphin could get used to nature again.

If you have a question, you may want to get a quick answer online. Some technology companies are working to make this come true by developing chatbots. They are computer programmes that can communicate with people by phone, on messaging apps or websites.
Chatbots can look up information, answer frequently(经常地)asked questions and collect information from users. They can also be used for online shopping to help people decide what to buy.
There are two kinds of chatbots: open and closed. A closed chatbot may or may not use AI to understand messages from users. An open chatbot uses AI to know what people want and to create a reply. Open chatbots are able to learn from their conversations and then improve their ability to communicate over time. This means that open chatbots can answer a wider range(范围)of questions, compared with closed chatbots.
One important advantage of chatbots is that they are available all the time. You can even use it at midnight. What’s more, one chatbot can serve many users at once. This means that people can get answers quickly instead of waiting for the reply of a human agent.
________ Someone has to programme the chatbots at the beginning and train them. Sometimes, open chatbots can’t give answers to certain questions. Besides, many people prefer speaking to a human rather than a chatbot.
21. What is the chatbot
A. A website. B. A messaging app.
C. A technology company. D. A computer programme.
22. What can chatbots do according to the second paragraph
A. Keep personal information safe. B. Answer the questions of their users.
C. Buy necessary things for their users. D. Help people make important decisions.
23. What is the difference between open chatbots and closed chatbots
A. Closed chatbots reply more quickly.
B. Closed chatbots are better at communicating.
C. Open chatbots answer questions on more topics.
D. Open chatbots don’t use AI to understand questions.
24. Which of the following can be put into ________
A. However, chatbots can’t take the place of humans.
B. Human agents and chatbots are good partners.
C. To solve the problem, humans are necessary.
D. Chatbots can do a great job by themselves.
25. What can we learn from the passage
A. Human agents are more popular than chatbots.
B. One chatbot can only serve one person at a time.
C. Chatbots have been widely used around the world.
D. Sometimes chatbots can’t answer people’s question.

例文:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m very excited to know that our school is recruiting some volunteers for the coming activity.
I am Li Hua, a boy from Class 2, Grade 9. I’m writing to apply to become a volunteer. The reason why I want to be a volunteer of the program is that I love Chinese culture very much and I want to spread Chinese culture. I think traditional Chinese culture is important and useful. I am going to show the traditional handicrafts, such as paper cutting, kites, lanterns and so on to spread the traditional Chinese culture. If I have the chance, I can make videos to tell international students the history of kites and teach them to make kites. I’m sure they will be very interested in it.
I have been a volunteer since I was a middle school student. I have learned a lot from my volunteer work. For example, I know how to communicate well with others. Besides, my English is very good, so I can communicate with them very easily.
I’m looking forward to your early reply!
Yours,
Li Hua
