Plants can not move like animals, but they communicate and respond to the environment through their own movement—a type of “plant body language.” Scientists have been amazed by these movements and created inventions based on them.
Everyone knows sunflowers turn to face the sun as it moves across the sky. This gave engineers the idea to create SmartFlower solar panels. They are in the shape of flowers, and each “petal” (花瓣) is a solar panel. SmartFlower follows the sun all day, which helps produce 40% more energy than normal solar panels. After dark or when there’s bad weather like heavy rain, the “petals” will close up.
Some plants, such as ivy (常春藤), can climb walls using sticky pads. The pads help ivy stick to wood, stone, and other surfaces. After studying this plant, scientists created soft climbing robots. Though small, these robots are strong enough to move on different surfaces and turn corners. This allows them to work in hard-to-reach places.
Another amazing plant is the exploding cucumber (喷瓜). It has a cool trick. When touched, it shoots seeds up to 6 meters away! Learning from this plant’s “body language”, medical researchers have developed a new way to send medicine to where it’s needed in the body, just as the plants shoot seeds to the right places.
Plants may seem quiet and still, but their special movements have inspired real-world inventions. Next time you see a plant, watch its “body language” carefully; you might catch the next scientific breakthrough!

My birthday was going to be special for two reasons. For one thing, nobody had ever turned nine in space before.
Mom, my sister Rebekah, and I were moving to Mars and living there for a year. We’d spent almost two weeks in the spaceship so far. It would take another thirty days before getting there.

“Why not ”
“Everyone knows fire on a spaceship is too dangerous. But at least you don’t have to worry about blowing them all out.”
“Yeah. Don’t tell Mom about this, okay I don’t want her to feel bad. It’s not her mistake that candles are not safe in space. ”
Our mother had an important job—looking after the ship’s electrical system. Besides, I wanted to act like a grown-up. Most people on the ship had important work to do. Even my sister helped with science experiments. If I couldn’t blow out the candles, at least I was old enough not to complain.
After dinner on my birthday, Mom floated towards me, carrying my birthday cake. I was amazed. “Candles! ” I shouted. “I thought fire wasn’t allowed.”
“Look closer,” Mom said. “The candles were electric lights. ”
“Cool,” I said. “But I wish I could blow them out.”
“They wouldn’t be birthday candles if you couldn’t!” She blew, and all nine went out. Another puff, and they lit up again.
“Did you invent those ” Rebekah asked.
“No, these have been around since the twenty-first century. ”
My sister mouthed the word “sorry” at me. I smiled. Even big sisters didn’t know everything.

46.例文1:
AI in My Life
Living in a digital age, I find artificial intelligence everywhere in my life. Here are some examples.
At school, AI is very useful for my studies. When I can’t solve a homework problem, I can take a picture of it. Then AI will tell me how to do it step by step, just like a real teacher. At home, I have an AI speaker. It can play music for me. It also tells me what the weather is like. But sometimes, I use AI too much.
In my opinion, AI brings us lots of convenience. But we need to use it in a wise way.
例文2:
AI in My Life
Living in a digital age, I find artificial intelligence everywhere in my life. AI has become a helpful tool for both my studies and daily life.
In my studies, AI apps help me improve my English pronunciation and offer better ways to solve difficult math problems. During my free time, I enjoy using AI-powered apps to create my own music or pictures. With just a few clicks, I can transform my ideas into creative designs.
However, AI sometimes gives incorrect answers and can't truly understand my feelings. Also, depending too much on AI may stop us thinking on our own.
In a word, we should use AI wisely and remember our thinking ability and creativity are more valuable.
例文3:
AI in My Life
Living in a digital age, I find artificial intelligence everywhere in my daily life. It plays an important role in both my studies and daily life.
At school, AI acts as a helpful key, unlocking new ways to learn. For example, English learning apps correct my pronunciation and suggest better words. At home, my smart speaker is like a friend, playing music based on my mood and checking the daily weather for me. It can even chat with me about various topics, from space to art.
However, I regret to see that some classmates copy answers directly from AI without thinking, which limits their ability to solve problems independently.
In my opinion, AI is a double-edged sword. Only by using it wisely can we ensure it helps us, rather than replace us.
