Imagine a dog you don't need to train. Instead, you can program it to do whatever you want. Now, you don't need to imagine it. Meet Spot, a dog like robot from US company Boston Dynamics.
In March, the Archaeological Park of Pompeii (庞贝考古公园) in Italy gave Spot a new job. Pompeii is a famous “time capsule (胶囊)” from the ancient world. Thousands of years ago, a nearby volcano covered the city in ash. Many people died, but the ash kept buildings safe until someone found it in 1748.
So, what is Spot doing in Pompeii It walks around the site with a 3D scanner (扫描仪). There are many narrow, underground tunnels in Pompeii. Thieves used the tunnels to steal things. The tunnels bring safety problems to the ancient buildings. Robot dogs are small enough to go through these tunnels and find any changes to the buildings.
According to Gabriel Zuchtriegel, new director of the site, this is the first time anyone has used a robot to help protect an archaeological site. “It's a breakthrough and it would allow us to protect the ruins with greater speed and in total safety,” said Zuchtriegel.
Spot will also work with a 3D scanning drone (无人机). The two tools will check the site regularly. They will look for any damage that may need a repair. As art magazine ART news said, Pompeii is turning into a “Smart Archaeological Park”.
28.What can we learn about the Archaeological Park of Pompeii from Paragraph 2?( )
A.A dog like robot works for the park.
B.Many people died at the park in March.
C.People found a time capsule at the park.
D.A volcano covered the park in ash in 1748.
29.What does the park use Spot to do?( )
A.Catch thieves.
B.Build a narrow tunnel.
C.Look for safety problems.
D.Clean up volcanic ash.
30.What does Zuchtriegel think of Spot?( )
A.It is a great help to the park.
B.It breaks things often.
C.It should move faster.
D.It brings safety problems.
31.What can we learn from the story?( )
A.Spot will repair damage to the buildings of Pompeii.
B.Protecting the park from damage is difficult.
C.A 3D scanning drone will take Spot's place.
D.Modern inventions make it easier to protect ancient buildings.

Petra may be the treasure of an ancient world, hidden behind a tall mountain. Its beautiful scenery makes it one of the greatest ancient sites still standing today. Common sense says “perhaps there's nothing on the planet that looks like it”. Without doubt, there's nothing in the world that resembles it. The rock carved rose red town of Petra is filled with a mysterious charm that had been “designed to strike wonder into all who entered it”.
Petra is the legacy from the Nabataeans, a hard working group of Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. Admired then because of their culture, architecture and complex dams and water channels, Petra has become a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Heritage Site and listed in the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Petra is the most well known site in Jordan located about 262 km south of Amman and 133 km north of Aqaba. The Dead Sea is 80 kilometres north of it. The steeply rising sides of a long, cool, dark and narrow gorge basically keep the sunlight out. Suddenly the gorge opens right into a natural square covered with Petra's most well known monuments, which glows in the bright sun. The ancient city shows the visitors its beautiful look. The town is large and the quality of the architecture is surprising. It leads someone to think about the creativity from the Nabataeans who made Petra their capital.
Petra was the top architectural site for more than 400 years until it was occupied by the Romans in 106 AD. It was seen first when discovered in 1812 after being lost through the 16th century for nearly 300 years! Petra has 800 monuments, including buildings, tombs, baths, halls, temples, and streets, which were mostly carved in the pretty sandstone. Petra sights are in their finest in the early morning and the late afternoon. Once the sun warms the colorful stones, you will see the majesty of Petra.
32.What do we know about Petra from the passage?( )
A.It is on the top of a mountain.
B.It was a palace for the king.
C.It is a unique site.
D.It was built by the Nabataeans in 106 AD.

A.It is about 133 km south of Aqaba.
B.It is about 262 km north of Amman.
C.It is 80 km south of the Dead Sea.
D.It is in southeast Jordan.
34.According to the passage, Petra was lost ________.( )
A.in the 1500s B.in the 1600s

On the morning of our long awaited graduation day, expectation filled the air as I together with my best friends Sarah, Maria and Grace gathered our bags, waited for the plane and set about our adventure to Barcelona. For months, we had been dreaming about this moment, which marked the end of years of burying ourselves in hard work and staying dedicated. It was three months ago in a history class that we were drawn to its rich history, from the medieval streets of the Gothic Quarter to the groundbreaking historical architecture of Antoni Gaudi.
The happiness of burying ourselves in a new culture, filled with amazing and new cuisine and friendly people, advanced our excitement. However, despite our enthusiasm, we couldn't ignore the fact that none of us spoke Spanish so fluently. On the day before setting off, we were still hesitant about whether to go or not. While surfing on the Internet for advice, we found that most people travelling to Barcelona considered the locals friendly and warm hearted ones who are always willing to offer help. A sense of relief and expectation took the place of the worries. We made up our minds to go there.
As we stepped off the plane, bathed in Spanish warm sunshine, our spirits rose high. We kicked off our journey with a wander down Las Ramblas, enjoying the energy and talent of street performers. Down by the street, the traditional buildings and precious cultural sites were a true feast for the eyes.
Yet, the days passing by, unforeseen challenges began to take place. On the last day of the journey, as we were lost in the beauty of the amazing squares and traditional buildings, Sarah put forward that we could play the game of cat and mouse to better explore the architectures. After arranging our roles, we ran towards different directions to hide, while the cat, Sarah, began to count down to find and catch us.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式在相应位置作答。
Hiding myself in the corner of a hall, I carefully observed Sarah. Panic seized our group as we found Sarah's left arm bleeding.

[精彩范文]
Dear Lynn,
How is everything going I'm thrilled to help you design a captivating cultural heritage brochure for the upcoming Multicultural Festival in your school.
For a proper topic, I recommend exploring the art of Chinese calligraphy. It's not only visually attractive but also deeply rooted in our history. You can dig into its origins, different styles, and the significance of each stroke. As for the brochure design, consider employing traditional Chinese colors like red and gold for an authentic feeling. And it's also a good idea to include a brief history, colorful and charming pictures, and perhaps a step by step guide to writing a few basic characters. This interactive activity could engage readers and provide a hands on experience.
Let me know if you need more information or assistance. Wishing you great success with the project!
Yours,
Li Hua

Hiding myself in the corner of a hall, I carefully observed Sarah. After finishing the count down, she looked around seriously, fixed her eyes straight ahead, and then walked towards the gate of the hall where I was in. With a smile on her face, she looked so confident. A sense of nervousness welled up in my heart. While I was worried about being caught by her, she stopped halfway and ran quickly towards the back of the gate. The instant she approached the gate, Grace pushed the door away and ran away like an arrow. At the same time, Sarah was knocked down by the gate and started to cry.
Panic seized our group as we found Sarah's left arm bleeding. Our hearts pounding with fear and concern, we comforted Sarah anxiously. Not knowing the location of the hospital and how to perform first aid, I decided to turn to the locals. I approached a young lady and tried my best to tell her what happened in simple Spanish. Aware of what happened, not only did she help us call the ambulance, but she accompanied us to the hospital. Luckily, the doctor told us Sarah's arm was not bleeding and after simple treatment we went to the airport to go home. Adventurous as the trip was, it showed us the friendliness of local people and strengthened our friendship.

Dear Lynn,
How is everything going I'm thrilled to help you design a captivating cultural heritage brochure for the upcoming Multicultural Festival in your school.
Yours,
Li Hua

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

[精彩范文]
Hiding myself in the corner of a hall, I carefully observed Sarah. After finishing the count down, she looked around seriously, fixed her eyes straight ahead, and then walked towards the gate of the hall where I was in. With a smile on her face, she looked so confident. A sense of nervousness welled up in my heart. While I was worried about being caught by her, she stopped halfway and ran quickly towards the back of the gate. The instant she approached the gate, Grace pushed the door away and ran away like an arrow. At the same time, Sarah was knocked down by the gate and started to cry.
答案
