Situated at 4,700 meters near Mount Everest in Northwest China’s Qinghai province, Yushu houses thousands who harvest caterpillar fungus, a highly valued traditional medicine. Each May and June, numerous pickers brave the tough environment to collect this essential income, often facing a variety of health issues.
Before the establishment of the mobile clinics, ill or injured pickers had to endure a one to two day travel downhill for treatment, resulting in lost income and life-threatening delays in emergencies.
Recognizing this situation, Yushu City People’s Hospital and local authorities partnered with town-level health centers to create mobile clinics that provide medical services directly at major harvesting sites. This initiative aims to modernize healthcare access for remote, economically vital communities involved in fungus harvesting.
This season, over 200 medical professionals from county. township. and village levels formed 26 mobile medical service teams, covering 40 harvesting zones. Each zone has three to five medical personnel offering free medicine and initial treatments. The mobile clinics perform initial screenings and diagnoses, measure blood pressure and test blood sugar levels, ensuring immediate care without long-distance travel.
Tashi, a dedicated doctor in these mobile clinics for over a decade, recalls a 2019 incident when an elderly man fainted while digging caterpillar fungus. The mobile clinic team swiftly transported him to a town ambulance, and he fully recovered in the hospital. “These clinics have been lifesavers for many.” Tashi emphasizes.
The mobile clinics have created a vital health safety net for Yushu’s herdsmen and pickers. By providing essential medical care in one of the world’s most challenging high-altitude environments, these clinics enhance local well-being and support the sustainability of traditional livelihoods. This annual initiative marks a significant step toward improving healthcare accessibility in remote China, ensuring Yushu’s hardworking communities receive the necessary medical attention.
4. What do we know about the caterpillar fungus pickers in Yushu
A. They are in poor health. B. They work as full-time farmers.
C. They mainly live on fungus harvesting. D. They harvest fungus throughout the year.
5. Why are the mobile clinics in Yushu established
A. To provide professional training for local doctors.
B. To increase the income of caterpillar fungus pickers.
C. To research traditional herbal medicine in remote areas.
D. To offer timely medical support to caterpillar fungus pickers.
6. What can be inferred about the mobile clinics
A. They are the result of joint efforts. B. They provide further medical treatment.
C. They have cost a lot to operate and maintain. D. They are staffed by experts from large hospitals.
7. What is the author’s attitude toward the mobile clinics
A. Unclear. B. Doubtful. C. Cautious. D. Appreciative.

Generative artificial intelligence is emerging in the classroom — and not just from students looking for shortcuts. Teachers are adopting new AI grading tools, saying the programs let them give students faster feedback and more chances to practice. Used properly, teachers believe, AI helpers can provide consistency and remove bias (偏见) from assessments of student work. Others say the technology isn’t reliable enough yet to be used for something as critical as grading, which can affect college admissions and other life choices.
To see how the graders work, researchers put a 12th-grade English paper, which earned 97% in 2013, into three tools: AutoMark, Class Companion and CoGrader. The first gave the paper 97%, and later 100%, while the two others came down stricter, rating it 62% and 85% respectively, suggesting refining the focus of paragraphs, shortening long sentences and citing famous quotations. The essay’s original grader, high-school English teacher Stephen Mounkhall, noted some of the feedback sounded potentially believable as a teacher, but that the robot is incapable of viewing the nuanced (细微的) differences of a student’s progression.
The startups state the tools have gained recognition over the last school year and are continually being improved. Class Companion co-founder Avery Pan said teachers can train the AI by overriding grades, or can hide the score numbers altogether. CoGrader offers a button to make feedback kinder.
Sixth-grade English teacher Stephanie Galvani likes the AI tools as they help keep her from bringing bias into her grading. Given the AI can offer too much criticism, she deletes suggestions about less important skills so as not to overwhelm the students. “They’re sixth-graders, I don’t want to make them cry,” she said. High-school English teacher Andrew Gitner adjusts AI-generated comments to sound more like something he would write. “I would never use the word ‘delve,’” he said, “but the AI constantly does.” Other teachers say they push the AI feedback straight through to students after becoming comfortable with the products.
AI startup founders stress that even as the tools become more trustworthy on individual assignments, teachers should always play an active role in final grades.
8. Why do teachers turn to AI grading tools
A They feature many different uses. B. They serve as a shortcut for teachers.
C. They offer instant and objective feedback. D. They assess students’ test papers accurately.
9. What can we conclude from the test about the 12th-grade English paper
A. AI grading is critical and rigid. B. AI grading provides lower grades.
C. AI grading is direct and reliable. D. AI grading gives personalized feedback.
10. Which of the following best explains “overriding” in paragraph 3
A. Deleting. B. Revising. C. Overlooking. D. Upgrading.
11 What will AI startup founders probably advise teachers to do
A. Employ the AI tools wisely. B. Adjust the AI grading system.
C. Delete criticism from the AI feedback. D. Present AI feedback directly to students.

A recent report called for intensified efforts to employ chemical recycling as a key solution to addressing plastic pollution, considering its potential to dispose of low-value plastic waste that is difficult to recycle. By 2035, the oil output from chemical recycling could potentially be double that of China’s largest oil production base, said the report.
Chemical recycling is one of two major ways to recycle waste plastic. It splits (降解) polymer-chains and creates products such as oil. The other way is mechanical recycling, which crushes waste to make new plastic products. Mechanical recycling is a good way to recycle engineering plastics, plastic bottles and hard plastic packages. However, it is not economically or technologically practical for recycling flexible plastic packages and plastic films, which account for about 46 percent of the plastic produced in China.
Citing statistics from the Plastic Recycling Association, a news release from the academy said about 62 million metric tons of waste plastic was generated across the country last year, with about 19 million tons recycled. It said that placed China at an internationally advanced level in waste plastic recycling. “However, China now faces the development bottleneck in further increasing the rate,” it said. “There is an urgent need to tap chemical recycling.”
The report said China is expected to produce 155 million tons of plastic a year by 2035. If chemical recycling is applied on a large scale, the country will be able to see remarkable drops in plastic waste and emissions of carbon dioxide, and a significant increase in oil production. If 30 percent of the country’s plastic waste is chemically recycled in 2035, the country will manage to reduce plastic waste by almost 36 million tons a year.
The report listed a series of proposals to increase the chemical recycling of plastic waste. It proposed comprising chemical recycling as a key part of the country’s governance system for controlling plastic pollution and guaranteeing energy security, as well as the country’s policy and regulation system for managing plastic pollution. It also suggested establishing a recycling system that furthers the development of chemical recycling, and rolling out demonstration projects that apply the approach.
12. How does chemical recycling work
A. It crushes waste and creates chains. B. It splits hard bottles and produces oil.
C. It degrades plastic and makes new products. D. It recycles waste plastic and reuses hard packages.
13. What drives China to tap chemical recycling
A. The inability to generate waste. B. The limit in plastic recycling progress.
C. The large amount of used plastic. D. The failure to meet recycling standards.
14. What do the figures in paragraph 4 imply
A. Limited effects in carbon dioxide absorption.
B. Serious situations in plastic and oil production.
C. Significant changes of plastic recycling application.
D. Promising prospects of chemical recycling application.
15. What is a suitable title for the text
A. Challenges of China’s Mechanical Recycling
B. Overview of China’s Plastic Recycling Techniques
C. Chemical Recycling to Reduce Plastic Waste in China
D. Chemical Recycling to Further Economic Development

Take Responsibility For Your Actions
Just like your words, you need to take full responsibility for your actions. Many people make silly excuses and don’t take responsibility for their actions. That is where they hurt others and themselves. If you have made a mistake and hurt others in the process, apologize immediately. 47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I had an impossible dilemma like that! Mine started when my two best friends and I were skateboarding in the park near my house.
“Hey, look at that poster,” Ollie said, sliding to a stop. “The Harvest Fair sounds cool.”
“Yes! But 50 dollars a ticket ” I said. “That’s a lot.”
“It’s not your average fair,” said Mareya. “It will be bigger, featuring delicious food and delicate crafts. Most importantly, our favorite band Eagle Daze is playing!”
We all sighed. Then I suggested taking a rest at my parents’ market. As we got close the Harvest Fair’s poster on the window of my parents’ store caught our eyes. I rushed inside and asked my Dad why there was such a poster. Dad turned to me and explained that a businessman who was going to produce an event at the park requested permission to hang a poster here. And as a reward, the businessman offered two free tickets. Dad handed me the two tickets before occupying himself with his business again.
I couldn’t believe my eyes. Lying in my hand were the exact tickets that we were dreaming of. But it took me exactly one second to go from very happy to very confused.
“I want to go!” said Mareya. “So do I!” Ollie followed eagerly.
Staring at the two tickets, I was at a loss what to do with the extra ticket. There was no way I could choose one friend without hurting the other’s feelings. Finally, we agreed to throw a coin to help us make the choice. It was then that Mrs. Nishikawa, a lonely80-year-old neighbor, approached us.
“I just saw the poster on your window,” she said. “How I used to love going to fairs! But it’s hard for me to get around alone now, and tickets cost so much these days.” She sighed, with regrets written all over her wrinkled face.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

Dear Peter,
I am very glad to tell you something about our newly established Labour Practice Base.
The base is located in an open area on the east side of the campus, covering an area of about 50 acres, which is carefully planned into a number of functional areas. At the base, students participated in the whole process of sowing, watering, fertilizing, weeding and harvesting, and experienced the wonderful transformation from a seed to a table food.
In my opinion, we can learn basic agricultural knowledge and life skills at the base, and more importantly, we will learn to be grateful for what we have.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节(满分25分)
【47题答案】
【答案】
Ollie and Mareya exchanged glances and they whispered something. Then they turned to me with smiles on their faces. “We think Mrs. Nishikawa should have the ticket,” Ollie said. “We can have fun skateboarding another time, but she might not have another chance to go to such an exciting fair.” I nodded in agreement, feeling proud of my friends’ decision. We walked over to Mrs. Nishikawa and handed her the ticket. She was so surprised and grateful that her eyes filled with tears.
When the day came, I brought Mrs. Nishikawa to the Harvest Fair. She held my arm tightly as we walked through the entrance. The delicious smells of food filled the air, and the colorful crafts were dazzling. When our favorite band Eagle Daze started playing, Mrs. Nishikawa’s face lit up with joy. She swayed to the music, and I could see the happiness in her eyes. It was a beautiful day, and seeing her so happy made it even more special. This fair became an unforgettable memory not only for us but also for Mrs. Nishikawa.
