Before coming to La Salle High School, Amelia Amand attended St. Agatha School in Portland, Oregon. “I decided to come to La Salle as a Senior One student because the school has a good volleyball program I really love,” she said.
Volleyball is a big part of Amand's life. She has been playing volleyball since the third grade. Amand now plays for La Salle's school volleyball team. “I enjoy it because it's a good way to reduce worry,” she said.
Volleyball takes up a lot of Amand's free time outside of the classroom, and balancing(平衡) schoolwork with sports can be a challenge. “It can be arduous. You've just got to keep concentrated(专注的),” she said.
In the future, Amand has a big goal. “I'd love to go into the medical field,” she said, explaining that this is something she has always wanted to do.
