(2024辽宁朝阳统考)
Being a teenager can be difficult, since you're dealing with hormones(荷尔蒙), higher expectations, and the process of finding your place in the world. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the teen years. If you want to have enjoyable teenage years, there are some things you can do—big and small—that can make a huge difference!
Setting Realistic Expectations
Avoid media-based expectations, good or bad. Being a teenager is not necessarily any easier or more difficult than any other life stage. Although adolescence(青春期) is a time of great changes, this does not necessarily mean it will be the most difficult time of your life. If you are worried that this new life stage will be full of ever-present drama, the truth is that this is just another stage of your life which you will get through as much as you did in toddlerhood(学步期) long ago.
Developing Yourself
Develop your sense of self, focusing more on your own thoughts and goals, instead of what other people think. For lots of people, the teenage years are full of worries—stop paying so much attention to them! Many worries are based on what other people think, rather than what you think. Go ahead and do what you want to do, without considering the opinions of others.
Developing Relationships
Work to improve your social skills. Some teens have trouble with social interaction(交往), with different reasons behind it. Since social interaction is necessary for succeeding, it's important to learn how to deal with shyness and social anxiety. Consider working with a friend or a family member of close age to develop your social skills. It may not replace new social exchanges, but it's a good practice.
Remember, not everyone enjoys their teens; that's just a fact of life. However, if you don't enjoy your teens, centre on being kind to others and getting through the period.
4.Why could it be hard for us to get through adolescence
A.We are afraid of hormones. B.It's the hardest stage in our life.
C.Others expect too much from us. D.We will lose our way in the world.
5.What can we learn from the second paragraph
A.Adolescence will be as difficult as toddlerhood.
B.As a teenager, you will get through some changes.
C.During adolescence you should avoid all kinds of expectations.
D.Being a teenager is not easy because it is full of ever-present drama.
6.Why is social interaction necessary
A.It helps improve our social skills.
B.It helps us get away from worries.
C.It helps increase our chance of success.
D.It helps replace new social exchanges.
7.What's the writer's opinion
A.What we think of ourselves can cause much trouble.
B.All of us are able to experience enjoyable adolescence.
C.Even if we can't enjoy our adolescence, we should try to get through it.
D.We should pay much attention to our own thoughts as well as others' opinions.

High school is a busy time, but it doesn't have to be unbearable! Our guide will help you improve your time management so you can stay on top of your schoolwork and feel more in control of your schedule.
Make the most of your class time. Sit in the front of the class. 1 It will also send a signal to your teacher that you are engaged in the class. Not every high school has the flexible seating arrangements. However, take advantage of the opportunity to sit in front if you have it. If you've been assigned a seat in the back row, respectfully ask your teachers for a seat closer to the front. 2
3 You can begin with brainstorming some long-term goals. When you understand what your long-term goals are, you can determine how best to make the most of your time in high school to accomplish those goals. Write down a list of things you may be interested in doing, then read and research what careers are involved(涉及) in those fields. 4 For example, you may want to become a computer programmer when you grow up. To that end, you may want to sign up for a computer programming course.
Set short-term goals by learning how to achieve your long-term goals. Research the steps it takes to achieve your long-term goals by talking to professionals who have achieved those goals and searching the Internet for information. 5 Make your short-term goals with both high school and college in mind. Make sure that your grades and extracurricular activities match the undergraduate, vocational(职业的), or other high school programs you intend to apply for.
A.Figure out your preferences.
B.The chances are they'll give you a leg-up.
C.Avoid writing down every single word.
D.There's a good chance that someone else is struggling with it too.
E.Doing so will help you concentrate on the lesson and avoid distractions.
F.Then determine what you can do in high school to start taking those steps.
