One of the world’s most famous tricks, however, happened in October rather than in April. In that month in 1938, actor Orson Welles announced on his radio program that aliens from Mars had landed on the earth. He described where they had landed and told how they were moving across the United States. Welles made it sound so real that hundreds of people believed the story, and fear spread across the whole country. By the time police officers announced that the story was a hoax, thousands of people had left their homes.

However, it led me to join the traditional Chinese painting club. There I found my hidden talent for painting. I worked hard to improve my painting skills. I even won first prize in the last painting competition. I realized that not making the basketball team had unexpectedly made me discover my love for traditional Chinese painting.

My Lucky Day
December 20th, 2023 was the luckiest day of my life.
When I woke up that morning, the sky was very dark. I rushed to the bus station and took the early bus as usual. By the time I got to school, the bell had rung. Later that day, as I was waiting in line for lunch, I suddenly realized that I had left my school ID card at home. One good thing was that my classmate Amy shared her lunch with me, which made me feel so lucky and warm.
I learned that it's important to take good care of my things. At the same time, we should give others a helping hand when they are in need so that we can bring them luck.
I think that is the best day I've ever had. What a lucky day!
