At first, the puzzled doctors thought she had a flu, but when her condition didn't improve, the Xus returned to clinic, where. a doctor by chance had experience with Kawasaki disease. Though rare, it's the leading cause of acquired (后天的) heart disease in babies and young children, and its cause remains somewhat mysterious. Luckily, the doctor knew how to treat it and eventually Kate shook off the illness without suffering damage to her heart.
Xu was amazed that the grown-ups couldn't answer her questions about why it was so hard to identify. “In my mind, it was a mystery,” she says, “It was a puzzle I wanted to solve.”
A decade later, wanting to enter a high school science fair, she had an idea: “What if we had a doctor in our pocket ” Using AI, Xu designed a medical app to recognize Kawasaki disease based on five physical symptoms (症状) .
The technology works the same way as apps that can identify birds and plants with photos you've taken on your cellphone. Worried parents can upload a photo that they have taken of their child, and the technology will scan the image for symptoms of Kawasaki disease.

A lot of people ask this question: “Why is body language so important ” Studies have shown that in the process of communication, non-verbal expression has 65% to 93% more influence than actual text. This means that “how to say” is more important than “what to say”. Of course, this does not mean that you don’t need to do preparation for your interviews, nor does it mean that you can take any short cuts. On the contrary, this means that you have more things to pay attention to and prepare for.
In the real workplace, body language is much more important than you think. Without proper body language, you may find yourself trapped in a circle where you can’t integrate with the external environment, not to mention the difficulties in the absence of body language in the workplace.
“People can often make inferences from actions, and the results of these inferences directly affect lives: for example, who will be employed and who will be promoted.” Academician Amy Cuddy said in a TV talk show. She also said that “Our body language will also affect our perception of ourselves. When you try to make more authoritative actions, your brain will inadvertently receive signals and actually create an idea that you are more authoritative, so that you have more confidence in yourself.”
Therefore, before interviews or important meetings, try not to lean on any object or have a hunched back. Instead, you should try to keep your body relaxed. You can even stand with a relatively authoritative posture-of course, you may need to do these things in the bathroom or places where no one could see you.
Body language plays a crucial role in your job interviews, careers, and everyday life. Paying attention to body language could make strong impacts on your behavior, which could help you achieve better results. So, every time you are nervous or feel that you can’t do it, stretch your body, smile, and tell yourself “Fake it till you become it!”
28.What can be inferred from paragraph one
A.Your success depends on your body language.
B.Your body language exposes your hiding meanings.
C.Your body language is a shortcut to your success.
D.Your body language is born with the ability.
29.What does Amy Cuddy mostly agree with
A.A person with good body language can be directly employed.
B.A person’s actions can have an influence on his results.
C.A person’s body language can improve his confidence.
D.A person’s brain can decide the types of body language.
30.What does the author recommend before interviews
A.Practising standing straightly. B.Hiding things in the bathrooms.
C.Exposing your weakness. D.Leaning on a desk.
31.What can replace the underlined word in the last paragraph
A.Equal. B.Amazing. C.Positive. D.Important.
Nestled in the heart of a mountain village in China’s Guizhou province, there is a unique ecological family farm. It is run by Kevin Cillen, a 28-year-old Belgian who is passionate about the land. With his parents and siblings, they have combined Western farming techniques with local countryside practices to cultivate an “ecological oasis”.
The family’s pursuit of their farming dream in China began in 2000, when Kevin’s mother Hetty Cillen visited China as a volunteer for the first time. The enchanting landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guizhou fascinated her, causing her to make this foreign country her home. Soon after, his father Patrick Jan Cillen joined her. In 2017, the family rented a plot amid the forest to establish an ecological farm where they laid the foundation, leveling the land, sowing pastures and rearing lambs and chicks.
The locals have openly embraced the foreigners, inviting them to festivities and celebrating traditional Chinese holidays together. In 2018, Yang Chengkai, a 34-year-old villager, befriended the family, often assisting them on the farm. “The community has embraced this family. Even the vendors at the local market contribute by giving them vegetable scraps for free to feed their livestock.” Yang says.
The family farm, hidden within the dense forest, is proof of Guizhou’s ecological progress. The farm practices diversified grass cultivation for high-quality animal feed, uses solar panels for clean energy and employs rainwater harvesting systems for a stable water supply.
Living in China, the 28-year-old Belgian has witnessed the country’s remarkable changes. He has also seized the opportunities of the Internet and new media to increase the farm’s visibility. Partnering with Qiu Ye, a social media influencer, he has set up accounts like “Kevin’s family in Guizhou” on various platforms. By sharing their daily lives on the farm and the natural beauty of rural China, their content has quickly earned over 700,000 subscribers.
32.What made Hetty Cillen decide to settle in Guizhou
A.The natural beauty. B.Volunteer work.

C.By practising sustainable way of farming. D.By facilitating eco-tourism and green living.
34.How has Kevin promoted the farm
A.He has created a website. B.He has set up social media accounts.
C.He has it advertised by local villagers. D.He has organized events for subscribers.
35.What might be the best title for the text
A.Belgians Harvest a Good Farm Life in Guizhou
B.Belgians Get Enchanted by the Beauty of Guizhou
C.Belgians Become a Social Media Influencer in China

Much meaning can be conveyed clearly with our eyes, so it is often said that eyes can speak.
36 In a bus you may look at a stranger but not far too long. And if he sensed that you are staring at him, he may feel uncomfortable.
The same is true in our daily life. If you are stared at for more than necessary, you will look at yourself up and down to see if there is anything wrong with you. 37 Eyes do speak, right
Looking too long at someone may seem to be side and aggressive 38 If a man stares at a woman for more than 10 seconds and refuses to look away from her, his intentions are obvious. He wishes to attract her attention, and let her know that he is admiring her.
However, when two persons are engaged in a conversation, the speaker will only look into the listener’s eyes from time to time to make sure that the listener does pay attention to what the former is speaking. 39 If a speaker looks at you continuously when speaking as if trying to control you, you will feel awkward. A poor liar usually exposes himself by looking too long at the victim. He wrongly believes that looking straight in the eye is a sign of honest communication. 40 Actually, eye contact should be made based on specific relationship and situation.
A.On the contrary, it will give him away.
B.Do you have such a kind of experience
C.That’s what normal eye contact is all about.
D.Actually, continuous eye contact is limited to lovers only.
E.After all, everybody likes to be stared at for quite a long time.
F.But things are different when it comes to staring at the opposite sex.
G.If nothing goes wrong, you will feel annoyed at being stared at that way.

I woke up early on my birthday, excited to go to school and see my friends. Although my parents were not wealthy, they always tried to turn special occasions into beautiful memories with each other.
I was about to leave for school when my mother stopped me. “Wait a minute! We have something special for you!” my mother announced and offered me a shoebox. My eyebrows raised in surprise. This gift was surprising because the box looked like one of my favourite brands. When I lifted the lid, I screamed in delight.
“Happy birthday, baby!” my mom said as I grabbed the popular basketball shoes and tried them on.“I got them from Mr. Byrne’s thrift shop (旧货店), but they look pretty new, right ” “I don’t care where they came from, Mom. They are amazing! Thank you so much!”I held them fondly. “I can’t wait to show them off at school!”
Of course, I received lots of praise at school. Suddenly, Brandon, one of my classmates, shouted, “Look! There’s something written here!” I looked carefully and saw the words “To my dearest boy…” on a sole (鞋底).
“Your mom probably wrote them,” Brandon stated.
I shook my head. “My mom’s handwriting is not like this. It must be from the old owner.”
I wondered about the words the rest of the day. Someone had really loved my sneakers, and maybe these shoes held much meaning to someone else.
After school, I walked to Mr. Byrne’s store and asked around. The older man said, “Oh, they were brought in by a kid named Samuel. He lives in a red house nearby. Mrs. Gherkins’ son, I believe.”
“Do you know why he sold them ”
“Most people bring stuff here because they need money,” Mr. Byrne stated.
I walked out of the store, thinking about how sad the boy probably was. I wanted to know what happened, so I looked around that street and soon spotted the red house.

根据空后的“and most complete”可知,此处需要一个与“most complete”形式相同的形容词最高级作定语来修饰“agricultural encyclopedia”,即“earliest”。故填earliest。
故填a。
故填What。
故填to generate。
故填has been translated。
consider...as... 故填as。

What an inviting life! I hope the day will come soon.
67.Paragraph 1:
I walked up to the front steps and knocked on the door. Out came a kid, calling himself Samuel. After greeting, I came straight to the point, asking why the shoes went to the thrift shop. From Samuel’s hesitant words, I knew the fact that his family needed money badly because of his father’s sudden illness. Thus, Samuel had to give up the precious birthday gift. Moved by what he said, I took off the shoes and handed them to Samuel without hesitation, wishing his family all the best. Tears in eyes, Samuel thanked me again and again.
Paragraph 2:
I returned home barefoot and my parents were shocked. Before they could say anything, the whole story came pouring out. “The amazing shoes have been back to the owner, Samuel! There’s special meaning to him!” I asked my parents to forgive me for my immediate action without referring to their opinions. Instead of scolding (训斥) me, my parents went over and hugged me tightly, praising me for what I had done. Later on, I got another special pair of shoes for my birthday. Such a “small” but beautiful memory inspired me to be a better person.
