(2023·聊城检测)Lots of cans and plastic bags were thrown on the beach.Looking at the messy beach, I felt sad.“What's wrong with the people?” I complained(抱怨) to my brother Dave.“Are they selfish(自私的) or silly?”
Dave's house was near here.It was a town with beaches, mountains and ever green forests. However, even in such a beautiful place, people left rubbish behind. This troubled me.
Then we went to the cafe.In the cafe, we talked while drinking coffee. It was so relaxing that by the time we left, I had completely forgotten about the rubbish.
I wanted to hang out at the nearby art store, so I asked Dave to go home first.
Then I walked to the beach again.I thought I would see a rubbish dump.To my surprise, however, all the rubbish was gone.I could hardly believe my eyes.
When I returned to Dave's house, I found bags of rubbish in the yard.Everything was clear. It was Dave who quietly picked up the rubbish.
I was ashamed at that moment.I just complained while Dave did something in silence. He made the beach clean. Most importantly, he taught me a lesson. Now, when I'm on the beach or in the park, I pick up some rubbish.Maybe it's just a can or a plastic bag.

Going Green Starts with Small Things
Everyone can make small changes in lifestyle and play a part in reducing pollution and waste.
First, you'd better ride a bike or walk to school, because it doesn't
pollute the air.
Second, saving electricity, water and food is necessary. You should turn
off the light when going out.Turning off the tap when you brush your teeth can save a lot of water.
What's more, don't use plastic bags when you go shopping. Because plastic is harmful to the environment.
Last but not least, we need to plant more trees and flowers to make the environment more beautiful.
How important it is for us to protect the environment! If we keep doing this, I believe the environment will be better. Let's do it together from now on.
