Two friends on a friendship boat
The boat will turn over or sink
The one makes friends with other people
No friendship is useless and no day is in vain.
Just as God has a purpose for sunshine and rain.
All can be discouraged and everyone cries,
But we have friends to comfort us.
Beneath these cloudy skies.
All hearts can break… they’re fragile as glass
But with a friend beside us, this too shall pass.
Friends who are faithful and noble at heart,
You may be afar, but we will never be apart.

Language features
1. What is the main purpose of the writer writing this
The main purpose is to describe the problems in the friendship and seek advice on how to deal with them.
Sentence structures are mostly simple or compound, avoiding complex grammatical forms, which mirrors the natural flow of spoken language when someone is expressing confusion or frustration. The emotional tone is sincere and vulnerable, with the writer openly admitting feelings of hurt ("I was really upset") and uncertainty ("I don’t know what to do"), allowing readers to empathize with the inner conflict.
2. What is the language style of "Friendship on the rocks: please advise!"

Further thinking
This friendship is worth saving.
It’s time to rethink the relationship.
Have a talk with her friend.
Whose advice do you prefer
What advice can you offer Amy
If you were the writer's friend, knowing that your frequent cancellations made them upset, what would you do to repair the friendship
I would take the initiative to apologize to the writer sincerely, explaining the reasons for the cancellations.
Then, I would try my best to keep the plans we make later, and maybe plan a special activity to make up for the previous disappointments.
I would also communicate more with them to let them know that they are important to me.
How to write a good reply to give advice to Amy
I'm so sorry! But this friendship is worth saving: eight years is a long time! Don't be so quick to judge your friend. Perhaps she knows she's in the wrong and wants to apologize, or maybe she has a simple explanation for her behaviour. In any case, find an opportunity to have a full and frank talk with her. Listen to what she has to say, and be sure to explain how you feel. I'm sure you can solve this problem together.
by Cindy
I definitely understand how you feel. I also had a friend whom I trusted a lot. When I found out that I was tricked by him, I was really hurt and let go of our friendship. I know you value your friendship and want your friend to value it equally. However, if your friend ignores your feelings or makes you suffer, it’s time to rethink your relationship. Talk to her and decide whether this friendship is still important to you. It’s sad to move on, but you have to accept that friends come and go in life. by David
