I was born with a rare disease．My parents gave me my first toolbox when I was five years old，because they thought playing with blocks could help improve my flexibility．Although it was difficult to put all the pieces together，I made my first Lego car．As I grew older，I became interested in Lego Technic，which allowed me to create more complicated things．By the age of nine，I had made my first prosthetic arm (义肢) using Lego Technic—a simple box that perfectly suited my right arm．
This early creation drove me for further exploration．Years later，I developed another prosthetic arm called the MK-Ⅰ．It had fingers，a motor，a sensor that felt pressure，a moving elbow，and a grabber to pick up things．
Before constructing it，I had already decided against traditional prosthetics．Not because they were ineffective，but because playing with Lego did significantly improve my flexibility，helping me adapt to my condition．Besides，a more disappointing reason was that traditional prosthetics were too expensive．My parents and I had found one a few years earlier，only to be discouraged by the costly price．So，I concluded that I might not need to buy one because I was trying to make a better one．Moreover，the pure joy of creating prosthetics with Lego Technic kept me going on．
As the years passed，my creations changed from MK-Ⅰ to the more advanced and comfortable MK-Ⅴ．It featured a control unit that could send and receive orders from sensors on the arm to the motors，with cables that work like muscles．
One day，a couple with their eight-year-old son，who lost both arms in an accident，came to me after learning about my creations．Short of money，they couldn't afford well-functioning prosthetics．“Tom，”the father sincerely asked，“we were wondering if you could help build a set of prosthetics for our son．”

The scientist I admire most is Yuan Longping，an outstanding agricultural scientist known as the“Father of Hybrid Rice”．
A few decades ago，the lack of food was one of the main problems threatening Chinese people．After years of study，Yuan Longping successfully developed the world's first hybrid rice，which dramatically increased rice production．His approach to rice breeding also serves as a solution to food problems around the globe．
