Anyone who's seen kids on a playground knows that most children are naturally physically active and love to move around. But what might not be clear is that climbing to the top of a slide or swinging from the monkey bars can help lead your kids to a lifetime of being active.
Watch for Changing Interests
As time goes by,your child may lose interest in old favorites, such as soccer. The trick is to help your child continue to be active, even if league play fails halfway.Staying active and keeping fit are the goals,so help find other activities that your child enjoys.
As they get older,it can be a challenge for kids to get enough daily activities.Reasons include increasing demands of schools,a feeling among some kids that they aren't good at sports,a lack of active role models, and busy working families.
And even if kids have the time and the wish to be active, parents may not feel comfortable letting them freely wander around the neighbourhood as kids once did.So their opportunities might be limited.
Despite these difficulties, parents can instil(逐步灌输) a love of activity and help kids fit it into their everyday activities.Doing so can build healthy patterns that will last into adulthood.
Benefits of Being Active
When kids are active, their bodies can do the things they want and need them to do.Why?Because regular exercise provides these benefits:
·strong muscles and bones
·weight control
·decreased risk of developing type 2 diabetes
·better sleep
·a better outlook on life
Healthy, physically active kids also are more likely to be academically motivated, alert and successful. And physical skill builds self-confidence at every age.

B.being active is a natural way of having fun for kids

A.Their interests will change at a very fast speed.
B.They will love to play violent sporting activities.
C.They will set a greater goal for themselves.
D.They will fall into a less active state than before.
3.Why can't kids get enough daily activities
A.Because they lose interest in many activities.
B.Because they have to fulfill other things.
C.Because other kids are shy of moving about.
D.Because some parents stop their kids from going out.
B
“Have you checked the oil in the car?” my father used to say to me,his way of “Hello, hope you are well”. Sometimes our phone calls would begin with an question about the oil and end with one about the oil.
Fathers have a lot of love to give, but it's often supplied through the medium of practical advice. In my experience,it's mostly about my motor vehicle. My student car — an old green Toyota bought for $500 — was the vehicle for which my father expressed his paternal (父亲的) affections.I bet it's always been so.
Why can't fathers just say “I love you” or “It's great to see you”? The point is:You just have to translate from the language that is Fatherlish.Listen closely enough and the phrase “love you” can be heard in the slightly lengthier “I could come around Saturday and replace the seal around the base of your toilet because I think that thing is getting really smelly”. The affectionate phrase “You made my life better from the moment you were born” may be rarely heard, but there is the more common “I'll hold the ladder while you get the leaves off the roof”.
When I was 17,I went on my first road trip in that Toyota. My father stood on the corner.“Highways are dangerous,” he said,“so don't try overtaking anything faster than a horse and carriage. And take a break every two hours. And every time you stop for gas,you really should check the oil.” At that time we thought his speech was pretty funny and would repeat “horse-and-carriage” every time I sped up to overtake some other speeding vehicles.
Dad's long gone now.But after all these years,I realize that had I owned a copy of the Fatherlish-to-English dictionary,I'd have understood that the speech my friend and I so laughed at was simply Dad's attempt at affection.
4.According to the passage, how do fathers usually show their love
A.By inquiring their kids' cars.
B.By doing rather than saying.
C.By offering helpful advice.
D.By accompanying their kids.
5.Why does the author mention certain daily phrases in paragraph 3
A.To show the father's influence on kids.
B.To show a dad's loving concern for kids.
C.To prove the usefulness of a dad's advice.
D.To compare different versions of fathers.
6.What does the author think of his father's speech at last
A.Funny. B.Pleasing.
C.Annoying. D.Caring.
7.What is probably the best title for the passage
A.Love in Fatherlish
B.Remembering Very Moments
C.Father's Advice
D.My First Road Trip in Toyota
You realize your noisy and active kid has stopped jumping around, hasn't moved from the couch for more than an hour and isn't hungry. When you go check on them, you discover they're burning up.Uh-oh,a fever. 1 .But as Dr.Natasha Collia reminds us,“Fever is not necessarily a bad thing.Fever is simply your body's way of warning you it's fighting an infection(感染).” Here is Collia's advice on how to manage rising temperatures in your family.
2 ?
Touching your child's skin is not a reliable way to check for fever. To make sure of a fever, you'll need to take your child's temperature.Any temperature of 38℃(100.4°F) or higher is a fever.
How can I keep my child comfortable when they're running a fever
You can help keep your child cool by removing thick clothes, applying a slightly warm cloth,or giving them slightly warm baths.Place a fan in where they are sleeping or resting. 3 .
You can also manage your child's fever with an over-the-counter(OTC) medicine. The key thing to understand about the medicine is that while they can make your child more comfortable, they don't treat the cause of the fever.
How long should I keep my child on OTC fever medicines
Something for parents to keep in mind is that a fever actually helps with the progress of the illness. The fever helps the body fight an infectious process by lowering the amount of virus(病毒). 4 ,you shouldn't keep the fever from rising.
5 .When a child is on a fever-reducing medication 24/7,it's hard for us to understand the fever change. As a doctor,I won't know if going down or if the medicine is making it go down.
A.How do I take my child's temperature
B.How do I know if my child has a fever
C.Although your child may be uncomfortable
D.When your child's temperature reaches 38.6 ℃
E.Additionally, ensure that your child drinks enough water
F.This is more likely to occur as the cold and flu season approaches

根据第一段中的“most children are naturally physically active and love to move around”可知,大部分孩子是天生好动的。
根据第二段中的“The trick is to help your child continue to be active...”
根据第三段中的“Reasons include increasing demands of schools,a feeling among some kids that they aren't good at sports,a lack of active role models, and busy working families.”
根据第二段中的“Fathers have a lot of love to give, but it's often supplied through the medium of practical advice.(父亲们有很多爱可以给予,但通常是通过实用的建议来提供的。)”
第三段中的“Why can't fathers just say ‘I love you’ or ‘It's great to see you’? 提出问题;下文“The point is...Listen closely enough and the phrase ‘love you’ can be heard in the slightly lengthier ‘I could come around Saturday and replace the seal around the base of your toilet because I think that thing is getting really smelly’.(关键是……
根据最后一段“Dad's long gone now...was simply Dad's attempt at affection.(爸爸早就走了。
故选A。]
1.F [上文“When you go check on them,you discover they're burning up.Uh-oh,a fever.(当你去检查他们时,你发现他们正在发热。
2.B [下文“To make sure of a fever,you'll need to take your child's temperature.Any temperature of 38 ℃(100.4°F) or higher is a fever.(要确认发烧,您需要测量孩子的体温。
3.E [上文“You can help keep your child cool by removing thick clothes, applying a slightly warm cloth,or giving them slightly warm baths.(你可以通过脱掉厚衣服,敷上温热的布,或给孩子洗温水澡来帮助孩子保持凉爽。)”
4.C [上文“The fever helps the body fight an infectious process by lowering the amount of virus.(发烧通过降低病毒的数量帮助身体对抗传染过程。)”说明发烧对人的身体是有益处的,并由下文“you shouldn't keep the fever from rising.(你不应该阻止温度上升。)”
5.G [下文“When a child is on a fever-reducing medication 24/7,it's hard for us to understand the fever change.(当孩子全天候服用退烧药物时,我们很难了解体温变化情况。)”
