At_the_age_of_13,I_found_myself_deeply_interested_in_English. It was the movie called Roman Holiday that attracted my attention. From then on,I watched English movies from time to time. While watching,I followed the pronunciation, stress and intonation of speakers, which was my great pleasure.I also tried to communicate with my teachers and classmates in English.Even if they would make fun of me,I didn't mind.To my surprise,I was transferred from the bottom class to the top due to my progress, which was a miracle. To enlarge my vocabulary,I read as many stories and articles as possible.
That_way,I_could_further_expand_my_vocabulary. I continued to self learn English step by step.I even tried to write English diaries and rewrite some famous stories, one of which was published in our school newspaper. With these achievements,I had more faith in myself. Therefore,English was given priority when I chose my major at university.Wandering in the ocean of English, appreciating different cultures,I couldn't be happier more. After graduating from college,I was determined to be an English teacher to share my experience in learning English to help more students. My story proves that everyone has the ability to learn English.Success has less to do with IQ,but more to do with hard work and strong passion.

Ⅰ.阅读理解(共8小题;每小题2.5分,满分20分)
A
When I was in eighth grade,my English teacher Joan announced that we were going to learn about prepositional phrases(介词短语).“There are over forty commonly used prepositions,” she continued.“And everyone must memorize them.” Joan recited(背诵) these prepositions as easily as saying the days of the week. She said you would find grammar easy when you memorized them.I tried my best and finally succeeded. Then, grammar became easier, just as Joan had promised.
In addition to singing the prepositions, she shared other useful language points.I still remembered her catchy phrase: “Good better best, never let it rest, until your good is better, and your better is best.”
After high school,I went to college, majoring(主修) in—my parents couldn't believe it—English! In a creative writing class in my junior year,I recited the prepositions for my professor and classmates.I explained how my eighth grade teacher,Joan, had often said that a strategically placed prepositional phrase could add depth and variety to sentences.Impressed,my professor asked for a copy of Joan's list and other tricks of the trade that I remembered.
After graduating from college,I landed a job teaching eighth grade English.I tried best the way Joan had to make grammar easy.I started the unit with prepositions coming first.Memorization was the important part. Before long, the students were singing the prepositions to their favourite tunes. One year, since it was near Christmas,we all sang the prepositions to Jingle Bells.
I also required students to recite the prepositions in ten seconds or less.If you thought that was impossible, then you didn't know eighth graders. They welcomed any trouble, and with no homework as a motivator, they got right down to business.I pulled out a stopwatch and timed the students daily to judge their progress; 21,16,12,then bingo,10 seconds!
I taught eighth grade English for thirty eight years.Looking back, teaching English was a tough but worthwhile job,and I loved it every day.

Keeping a language alive can strengthen people's feeling of self and most importantly help to save a whole culture. This is probably why a group of Cherokee music artists decided to make a music album only in the Cherokee language,a very rare Native American language.
The album(专辑),titled DOAP oa V and pronounced “Ah” “Nuh” “Duh” “Nah” “Lees” “Gi”,means “Performers” in English. It includes a variety of modern styles, such as Pop,Reggae,Country,Heavy Metal,Hip Hop,and Folk. With a planned release(发布) date of Labor Day weekend, the record company is using the National Cherokee Holiday to make this album as well known as possible.
Jeremy Charles,a key figure in starting this album, has said that the “music will bring attention to Cherokee artists and speakers, and help more people around the world learn about our culture and language”.He hopes the album will encourage the next generation of Cherokee language learners. With 12 Cherokee artists from ages 14 to 50,you can see how this album will do a lot to spread Cherokee music and can inspire people of any age to create music that connects with their roots.
Projects like the DOAP oa V album bring a modern way to revitalize the Cherokee language and culture and encourage a younger audience to get involved and start learning the language. On average,a native language is lost forever every two weeks, and these people want to make sure that the Cherokee language isn't one of them.

A.It has various musical styles.

language.
7.Which can best replace the underlined word “revitalize” in the last paragraph
A.Translate. B.Review.
C.Renew. D.Create.
8.What's the best title for the text
A.Alarming! The Cherokee Language is Dying
B.Amazing! An 8th Grader is Releasing an Album
C.Bringing Music to Life with Modern Technology
D.Saving a Language Through the Power of Music

I'm an English self learner.English is not my first language.Today I'm an English teacher.I like to voice that failures are not disasters.Have faith, keep moving on and never give up.You will see your hard work pay off.
I was a slow learner when I was little. Before five,I couldn't even speak in full sentences like most other children.I sound interacted with others.I neither cry nor go,nor got angry. My extreme quietness made my parents wonder if I was mentally slow. But they were not sure.Actually,I have to admit that my memories of my early childhood are quite uncertain.
When I was in elementary school,I learned very slowly and was as quiet as a doll. While my teacher was teaching,my mind would often wander outside of the classroom to the playground. The learning problems and inactive personality remained with me until I was in Grade 5.As a fifth grader,I finally started interacting with my classmates. That was the first time in my memory that I had some friends. Most amazingly, from that time on,I became talkative, laughing and playing like any normal child.
After heading full speed for my junior education,my learning situation got stuck in the mud again. In my country, students were arranged into different levels of classes based on their IQ test scores. For example, students with higher IQ scores were placed in the “outstanding class”; average ones joined the “intermediate class”,and slower students were destined for the “bottom class”.I was placed in the “bottom class” as a result of my below average IQ score. Most of my teachers taught us using easy and slow methods because they considered us unable to learn much.Despite that,I never lost faith that I might one day succeed. As if to prove that when God closes a door,he will definitely open up a big window,a miracle occurred. That's when I discovered a strong passion for English.
注意:续写词数应为 150个左右。
At the age of 13,I found myself deeply interested in English.
That way,I could further expand my vocabulary.
