The relationship between parents and children is one of the longest lasting connections in life. How can you show love to your parents Here are some ways.
Spend time together. Doing activities that you all enjoy can help you understand your parents better. For example, if you like rock climbing, invite your parents to an easy climbing wall with you. This gives you the chance to teach them something, and they may support your hobby more if they’ve experienced it with you.
Remember that quarrelling (争吵,分歧) is normal. Say sorry if you’ve done or said something hurtful. Learn other ways to express your anger, such as writing to a friend for advice. If your parents are doing something that annoys (使生气,惹恼) you, try to deal with it calmly and suggest a good way.
Talk to your parents about the things they do that upset you. Your parents don’t know what’s bothering or annoying you. They won’t be able to try to change their behavior. Choose a quiet moment to have a talk with them. Plan what you want to say first in order not to have disagreements with your parents.
Talk to your parents about the challenges you’re facing. Ask questions about your parents’ experience of being a teenager, because they have useful experience about growing up. Use an example from a TV show or an article as a way to break the ice. Sometimes it’s easier to begin a difficult topic by expressing yourself in writing.

Later that day, when I was cooking, my daughter was standing too close to me. When I turned to reach for some milk, I nearly knocked her over.
“Move out of the way!” I shouted. She walked away sadly. While I was in bed that evening, my husband said to me, “While dealing with a stranger, you were polite, but with the daughter you love, you were unkind. Your daughter brought you some flowers that she picked herself this afternoon. You'll find them in the kitchen by the door.”
I quietly went to my daughter's bed. “Dear, I'm so sorry,” I said. “Are these the flowers you picked for me ”
She said, “I found them by the tree. I picked them because they're pretty like you. I knew you'd like them.”
I replied, “I'm really sorry for the way I acted today. I shouldn't have shouted at you.”

Zhang Ming, a student from Shandong University, created a 9-page “WeChat guide” (微信指南) to parents. With drawings and simple words, the step-by-step guide explains how to send messages, take pictures and make video calls. “My parents are getting old. They need an easy way to learn how to use technology,” Zhang said.
Zhang’s experience is common nowadays. In the world, 40% of parents learn about new technology, including computers, mobile phones and the Internet, from their children. Parents teach their kids almost everything when they are young. Now for the first time, the teachers become the students and the students become the teachers.
The change of roles comes from the rapid development of technology, according to Zhou Xiaohong, a professor (教授) from Nanjing University. Zhou said, “The Internet gives children more ways to get information. It’s possible that children know more than their parents these days.”
According to the China Internet Network Information Center, in China, 63.7% of Internet users are under the age of 30. Young people usually act as a link between their family and the new environment. When they teach their parents new technology, parents can connect to the new world by themselves.
In Zhang Ming’s eyes, teaching his parents about WeChat brings him closer to his parents. “People can communicate more by using new technology. Why do we keep our parents out ” said Zhang.

Teenagers are always energetic, creative as well as active. In their eyes, there’s nothing to fear. Just like the old saying goes, “New-born calves do not fear wolves.” However, in their parents’ eyes, they are not experienced enough. Parents are used to giving them lots of advice when teenagers need to make important decisions. They hope teenagers can do as they wish. The fact is that teenagers prefer to try different things in their own ways.
Parents’ hope Teenagers’ choice
Sports ping-pong or table tennis (one hour a week; relaxing, safe) basketball (at least thirty minutes every day; exciting)
Instruments the violin or the piano (elegant) the drums or the guitar (cool, exciting)
Clothes T-shirts (clean) baggy sweaters (cool)
Hair black colored

While having disagreements, some parents are always trying to persuade (劝说) their children to follow their ideas. In such a situation, the children have fewer and fewer chances to think about things and fight for their own ideas. They will be too lazy to think about anything. Some scientists believe teenagers should be allowed to make their own decisions in their life. In some situations, parents should take it easy when children have different ideas from them rather than be nervous. For example, the children can choose what to wear while hanging out. They should also be allowed to decide when to finish their homework by themselves. If they are allowed to make a choice or a decision, they will…
So it’s high time for parents to learn to accept the fact that their children are growing up and they are able to deal with a lot of things in a proper way. They have their own ways which may be different from parents’. It’s normal because they are born in different time periods. It’s understanding that can make parents and children love each other better.

Many parents usually wonder why they fail to get on with their children. Parents think their children should be very nice to them because they have done enough to pay for their children’s expensive education and send their children to the best schools.
Why does such a situation happen Here are some of the researchers’ findings after they questioned some “rebellious (逆反的)” students and their teachers.
Firstly, the students say that their parents try to buy whatever they request and satisfy their need for food and clothes. But the parents are seldom around them to show their care or take pride in their children. Secondly, some students say that their parents argue in front of them from time to time, some children honestly say that it’s just like heavy clouds hanging over the home when their parents have arguments.
As a result, the teachers say that the children are mostly less happy than they used to be and they do worse in schoolwork. Some worse results include students fighting with parents or students leaving home.
To make things better, some teachers suggest trying different solutions. For example, children should try to have more communication with their parents. A good understanding of each other is the best way to make the home nice. Next, students can take up some hobbies. It’s helpful to deal with the pressure from family matters nowadays.

A good parent-child relationship is like a light tower, guiding a family through the storms and seas in life. It is built on love, understanding, and respect (尊重).
Open communication is very important. My friend Lucy gets on well with her mother. Every evening, they sit down and talk about their day. Trust is another important thing. Parents should trust their children to deal with problems in their study and life. Once, I wanted to take part in a school science project that required me to work late in the school lab. I was nervous so I asked my parents for help. They trusted me I can manage my time and take care of myself. This made me believe myself.
Spending more time together is also helpful. Families can go hiking, have a game, or cook together. My neighbor’s family often goes camping. Scientists in some colleges have found that working parents believed that they knew about their children, but no one had ever asked their children what they thought. So the scientists interviewed over1,000 children of working parents. They wanted to find out what the children wanted. They asked the children whether they want their parents to stay at home and some other questions. After they collected answers, it was surprising that only 10% of the children said that they wanted more time with their parents. Once, at the foot of a mountain, there lived a poor farmer and his old mother. They owned a small piece of land and lived a peaceful and happy life.
But their kingdom was ruled by a cruel king. He was very afraid of anything that might be a sign of declining (衰退的) health and strength, so he sent out a cruel order: All elderly people were to be killed immediately. In those barbaric (蛮荒的) days, the custom of leaving old people out there to die was not uncommon. The poor farmer loved and respected his mother very much, and the order made him very sad. But everyone obeyed the king. The poor farmer had no other way. He sighed (叹气) deeply and hopelessly many times.
At sunset, after he finished his work. he lifted his helpless old mother onto his back and started on his painful journey to the Obatsuyama, the mountain of the “abandoning of the aged.” The road was long and steep, with narrow paths crossing each other. At one point the poor farmer lost his way, but he did not pay attention. He did not care which path he took. He went on and on. Tears ran down his cheeks as he climbed blindly up towards the bare (荒芜的) peak of the mountain.
The old mother’s eyes were not so weak and she could see the dangerous paths around them, and her loving heart grew anxious. She thought that her son did not know the mountain very well, and that his return might be full of danger. So she reached out her hand and broke twigs (小树枝) from the bushes, and quietly dropped some every few steps along the way. At last, they reached the top of the mountain. Tired and sad, the farmer gently laid down his mother and quietly made a comfortable place for her. He wrapped her coat around her shoulders and said goodbye with tearful eyes and a heavy heart.
The mother knew it was the last time to speak to her son. Her voice was trembling with unselfish love. “Be careful, my son. The mountain road is dangerous. Look carefully and follow the path with the piles of twigs. They _____5________.” the mother said in a stern (严厉的) tone.

A 2023 survey reported only about 55% parents let their children (aged 7-12) decide what to wear. Parents often want to be part of how their children dress so that it is acceptable and correct for their age, weather and the activity.
Parents have more experience. It is part of their job like making sure their children eat healthily. Young people are often unhappy when they are with their parents. They say that their parents don’t understand them. They often think their parents are too strict with them.
Parents often find it difficult to win their children’s trust, and they seem to forget how they themselves felt when they were young. For example, young people like to do things without much thinking. It’s one of their ways to show that they grow up and they can solve any difficult problems. But older people always think more than young people. Most of them plan things ahead and don’t like their plans to be changed, so when you want your parents to let you do something, you will succeed easily if you ask before you really start doing it.
Young people often make their parents angry by the clothes they wear, the music they enjoy and something else. But they don’t mean to cause any trouble. The just want to be cut off from the old people’s world and they are trying to make a new culture of their own. And if their parents don’t like their music or clothes or their ways of speech, the young people feel very sad. Sometimes instead of going out with their parents, they just want to stay at home alone and do what they like.

Parents can be very important teachers in our lives. However, they are not always the best teachers. Parents may be too close to their children emotionally(感情上).
Sometimes they can only see their children through the eyes of a protector. A teacher might see a trip to a big city as a valuable experience. However, it might seem too dangerous for a parent.
Another problem is that parents may expect their children’s interests to be similar to their own. If they love science, they may try to force their child to love science too. But what if their child’s true love is art, or writing, or car repair
Parents usually want to pass on their values to their children. But should children always believe what their parents do When children are young, they believe that their parents are always right. But when they get older, they will have different ways of thinking.
The most important thing to realize is that we all have many teachers in our lives. Our parents teach us, our teachers teach us, and our friends teach us. Books, newspapers and televisions also teach us. All of them are valuable.

83.What will happen to children when they grow older (不超过10个词)
84.What does the writer want to tell us (不超过10个词)

When I was a kid, my mum liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular, when she had made breakfast food after a long, hard day at hospital.
On that evening so long ago, my mum placed a plate of eggs, sausage and terribly burnt biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed. Yet all my dad did was reach for a biscuit, smile at my mum and ask my brother and me how we had been doing at school. I don’t remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him put butter and jelly(果酱)on that biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mum apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I will never forget what he said, “Honey, I love burnt biscuits.”
Later that night, I went to kiss my dad good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burnt. He wrapped me in his arms and said, “Your mum is really tired after a hard day’s work. Besides, a little burnt biscuit could never hurt anyone. We have been married for 17 years. She always cooks for me. Don’t put the key to your happiness in someone else’s pocket but into your own.”
