In a small coastal town, there lived two best friends, Sarah and Emily. They had been inseparable since childhood, sharing laughter, dreams, and endless adventures by the sea. Summers were spent exploring the rocky shores, where they imagined themselves as explorers uncovering hidden treasures.
One sunlit afternoon, while searching for shells, they came across the most beautiful seashell they had ever seen. It was pearly white with lines of pink and blue, shining as if it held the magic of the ocean itself. Both girls were fascinated, and after a moment of silent admiration, they wished to keep it. Unable to decide who should have it, they made a promise: they would share it, taking turns to keep it for six months each.
As the years passed, their lives took different directions. Sarah, ambitious and driven, moved to a distant city to pursue a career in the business world, while Emily stayed in their hometown, following her passion for painting the sea and the skies she loved so much. Though far apart, the seashell remained their silent connection, a reminder of their long-lasting friendship.
One day, Sarah faced difficulty. Her job, the one she had worked so hard for, was at risk, and the busy city suddenly felt cold. Feeling lost, she thought of the seashell and called Emily. Without hesitation, Emily packed her bags and traveled to be with Sarah.
When Emily arrived, she brought the seashell with her. Together, they sat in Sarah's apartment, holding the seashell and recalling their carefree childhood. Emily's warmth and presence reminded Sarah of who she truly was, and the strength she had within. Encouraged, Sarah decided to pursue her dream of starting her own business, and Emily's artwork decorated the walls of her new office, a symbol of their strong bond.

There have been times in your life when you may have almost no social interaction(社交). Feeling lonely can be bad for your mental and physical health. 1 I've been using many of the methods described here to build a satisfying social life for myself.
Limit your social media usage
If meeting people in real life is like eating a healthy meal, social media is like snacking. 2 But you'll still feel like something's missing. Ask yourself whether time spent on social media is actually helping you to feel more connected, or whether it leaves you feeling worse. If it's not helping, try limiting the time you spend looking at other people's posts to 10 minutes per day. Doing so can reduce feelings of loneliness and depression.
3
To create a healthy and supportive social group, it's important that you consider what you need. And think about whether the people you are spending time with meet your needs. Try describing what a close friendship group would look like to you. It's rare that anyone fits this description perfectly. But knowing what you value can make it easier to walk away from groups that are not a good fit for you.
Connect your interests with social groups
Your primary hobbies may not be things that you can do with others. 4 Artists, for example, may paint alone but can share their work and discuss art socially. Remember that most people want to have a social group that is similar to them in terms of values, beliefs, and preferences. If you find people who share your interests, they're likely to be similar to you in other ways, too.
5 Every hour you spend interacting with people makes you become a little better at it.
A.Turn people you know into friends.
B.It'll make you so full that you don't want real food.
C.Ask yourself what type of friend you are looking for.
D.You can refer to the advice above when making friends.
E.Building up a social circle will always mean being refused.
F.But most activities have groups that share an interest in them.
G.Luckily, there are several ways for you to build up your social life.

She had been a beauty in her day.

be familiar to sb.
sb. be familiar with sth.意为“某人对某物熟悉”;sth. be familiar to sb.
8.that/which 考查定语从句。
2.make a promise做出承诺 3.ambitious adj.雄心勃勃的 4.be at risk 处于危险之中 5.without hesitation毫不犹豫地 6.presence n.
根据第二段中“One sunlit afternoon, while searching for shells, they came across the most beautiful seashell they had ever seen...they wished to keep it.”
根据第三段中“Sarah, ambitious and driven...she loved so much.”
根据倒数第二段中“Emily's warmth and presence reminded Sarah of who she truly was, and the strength she had within. Encouraged, Sarah decided to pursue her dream of starting her own business”可知,Emily的出现激励了Sarah,她决定追求自己创业的梦想。
Para.
Para. 2
Para. 3
Para.
Para.
Para. 6
方面 8.interact with 与……
设空处位于末段,应是总结上文,上文提出了几个建议,结合下文“Every hour you spend interacting with people makes you become a little better at it.”
