Lead in Look at a picture about the blue ocean. Look at some pictures about the sea lives are in great danger. Give some possible reasons.
Pre-writing Listen and guess what animal it is. Give students some clues about it , and guess the answer. Watch a short video about Blue Whale and take notes about interesting facts.
While-writing Read the text and circle some interesting facts about Blue Whale. Finish the mind map according to the text. Try to make an ID card for Blue Whale. Imagine you are a blue whale. Use the first person to rewrite the first paragraph.
Post-writing Why can’t we find blue whales in Arctic Ocean Read and find the answers. Read paragraph 2, and think about what is “Whale Fall” Watch a short video.
