I used to hate asking for help. My parents taught me to be independent, so I thought asking for help meant I was weak. But a trip changed my mind.
A few years ago, I traveled to a small town in France by couchsurfing. When I arrived, it was pouring rain. My host invited me to walk around the town, but I had only thin shoes. My feet would get wet, but I didn’t want to trouble her. I said nothing and went out.
