阅读理解(满分50分)
A
Years ago, I was travelling around Australia with two friends. At that time, both friends had to leave early because of work, so I decided to travel to the Whitsunday Islands alone.
I got on a boat. Everyone on the boat, except me, was with friends. Not wanting to talk to strangers, I decided to take photos. The back of the boat was a good place to catch the wonderful view of the sea.
I walked there and saw a metal box standing there. I put my arms on it, without knowing it was a hot barbecue (烧烤架)!
“My God, it hurts!” crying in pain, I moved my arms away at once.
Although there weren’t marks on my arms, I was in great pain. And I didn’t ever have friends with me. I sat alone, trying not to cry. Finally my arms turned purple.
People on the boat saw this and came to help me. One girl offered me a special scald cream (烫伤膏).
After treatment, I felt much better. I could enjoy the beauty of the Whitsundays, talk to strangers on the boat and have fun with them.

Recently, artificial intelligence (AI) has been making waves in the art world. AI image-making tools such as Midjourney and DALL-E 2 can now make amazing digital paintings. How do they work
For DALL-E 2, the AI is fed huge collections of artworks. The program finds patterns (模式) in the pictures and, after a while, learns which features (特征) are important, such as people, animals, objects, styles, or colors. Then it can produce images (图像) that keep the key features and produce a good result. The app produces a lot of images at the same time but chooses the most accurate (准确的) ones for the user to choose from.
These days, anyone can go online or download an app to produce their own AI art. Just give the program a few keywords and choose a style, and it will create a digital painting in the style you want. This means that anyone can now create art, even if they don’t know how to paint.
Not everyone is happy about the growth of AI-generated (生成的) art. To some, it isn’t art at all because AI depends on learning from only the information it is given. The AI isn’t creating on its own. However, others think that AI is the same as humans and it is no different from any other artist.
Some people also say that AI art has no value because it is too easy. It isn’t created step-by-step by a human. Yet the same is true of photography. Just as artists of an earlier age welcomed photography, some artists today are using AI to create unique works of art. These artists find that they have to work together with the AI in exploring and experimenting—it isn’t simple at all!
At the heart of this debate (辩论) is an important question: Will AI replace human artists, or will humans learn to use AI as a tool to create great art Only time will tell.
51.People can use Midjourney and DALL-E 2 to ________.
A.collect artworks B.create paintings

52.What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 3 refer to
A.A style. B.AI art. C.The program. D.A keyword.
53.Why are some people against AI-generated art
A.Because it is created step-by-step by humans.
B.Because it can help people create unique artworks.
C.Because it’s too difficult to operate the technology.
D.Because it depends on learning from information instead of creating on its own.
54.From this passage we can know the writer is ________ about the future of using AI to create art.
A.sure B.uncertain C.worried D.excited
55.What can be the best title for the text
A.High Risks of Using AI B.Artificial Intelligence in the Art World

The growth in skyscrapers (摩天大楼) worldwide, most of which have large glass windows, has led to a great need for window washers. Though the job, which offers workers as much as $35 an hour, can be lucrative, many people are afraid to take it, as accidents are quite common. Now, the dangerous job may soon be done by Ozmo, with humans supervising (监督) on the ground.
Much like humans, Ozmo, hanging off the sides of the building, uses its arms and brushes to clean the dust on the glass. A 3D map of the building programmed into its system allows the robot to move up and down. Computer vision and touch sensors (传感器) make it move out of the way in case of accidents, such as the sudden opening of a window. And the robot will correct itself and move around in order not to break a window.
The robot cleaner does not require soap to clean the glass. Instead, it uses purified water (纯净水) and a process called reverse osmosis (逆渗透) to do the job. It is environmentally friendly.
While it takes three human cleaners 480 hours to clean the windows of a 40-story glass building, the robot will finish the task in just 80 hours. However, Ozmo will not take the place of human workers, only making their jobs safer. Human workers will control the robot.
Whether Ozmo, which is still being tested, does as good a job as humans is not clear. Past efforts to use a robot to do this dangerous job have not been successful, because the machines do not have the same eyes as humans and often miss the dust collected on window corners.
56.What does the underlined word “lucrative” in Paragraph 1 mean in Chinese
A.安全的 B.出色的 C.幸运的 D.赚钱的
57.Paragraph 2 mainly tells us ________.
A.the similarity between a human worker and Ozmo

58.To finish the task of cleaning the windows of a 40-story glass building, Ozmo spends ________ hours less than three human cleaners.
A.35 B.80 C.400 D.480
59.Ozmo will not replace human workers because ________.
A.it often misses the dust collected on window corners
B.human workers do the cleaning job more carefully
C.it uses environmentally friendly materials in cleaning
D.human workers need to control and supervise the robot
60.What can we know about Ozmo from the passage
A.Ozmo can do the cleaning job on its own.

C.Ozmo can make human workers do their jobs in a safer way.

Do you know the sun’s warmth is a kind of useful energy Want to try using it yourself Let’s do a cool project—making a solar tower!
You can try this project at home. You just need some tape, a pin (别针), paper, three cans and two big thick books. Now, we’re going to build the solar tower. First, make a pinwheel (纸风车) with a piece of square paper. In the second stage, cut off the tops and bottoms of the cans, place the cans on top of each other and tape them together. Next, use a pin to connect the pinwheel with the tower. Finally, put the can tower on top of the books, which are 5cm apart from each other. So there’s a gap (间隔) at the bottom, allowing the air to enter the tower.
Now, all we have to do is to set the whole thing near a window where there’s direct sunlight. When the sun shines on the tower, it gets hot and warms the air in it. The warmer air moves upward through the tower and makes the pinwheel turn around as it passes by. Then cooler air comes in through the gap from the bottom of the tower, gets heated up, and rises, so the cycle goes on. This is how it works. How amazing!
So next time you feel the warm sun on your face, remember that it’s more than just a nice feeling—sunlight is a powerful and useful source of energy.
61.How does the writer introduce the topic
A.By listing numbers.B.By asking questions.C.By stating opinions. D.By giving examples.
62.How many steps does it take to build a solar tower
A.2. B.3. C.4. D.5.

A.To stop the tower from falling off. B.To make the air get into the tower.
C.To stop the books from heating up. D.To make the air get out of the tower.
64.How does the air travel through the tower (for warm air; for cold air.)
A. B. C. D.
65.On which part of a newspaper can we probably find the text
A.Science. B.Society. C.Lifestyle. D.Environment.
