8.time management 时间管理
In the UK and the US, senior high school students take part in various after-school activities, such as club activities and volunteer work. These activities not only help them gain more skills, but also teach them to care about others. After-school activities also play a part when students apply to college. However, they can take up a lot of time, so students have to learn to organize their busy schedules. To help them do this, some senior high schools offer courses in time management.

Maisie: Hi Bruno, how are you finding life at senior high
Bruno: Oh, hi Maisie. Well, it's OK, I guess. The one problem is that I just don't seem
to have enough time for everything. There are basketball games, the music club,
the school party...
Maisie: Wow, you've got a lot on. But it's more and less the same for me. And I find I always forget something.
Bruno:Me, too. We need to do something about it. My father told me that I should
make a to-do list. What do you think
Maisie:It is a good idea to list the things we're going to do.
Bruno: And how about recording the time it takes to do the activities We can then see what takes up most of our time and make betters plans. What’s your opinion
Maisie:Great idea. And I’ve got two more ideas. Number one, only do one things at time. That way, you'll get things done more quickly. For example, if you do your homework while watching TV, it will just take longer to finish your homework.Number two,
do important things first.
Bruno:Nice ideas!
Maisie: How about we try all of them for a week and see if things get better
Listen again and complete the plan.

As a student, classes and workshops might take up most of your day, but 1 how you make use of your time can make all the difference.
Having a daily schedule puts you at ease. It will help you stay organised and pay attention 2 to what matters most. By planning ahead and using your time 3 wisely (wise), you'll be able to finish more and enjoy more free time.
No matter what activity might waste your time, try not to think about that during study time. Instead, use those 4 activities (activity) as a reward for your attention to studies and 5 achieving_ (achieve) the tasks.
Before you begin your tasks for the day, put them in order of 6 importance (important). To-do lists are a great tool, but organising them a little rather than just writing down everything that should 7 be done (do) is a must. Finishing the most important task first in the morning will leave you with a sense of achievement, 8 which can reduce (减少) your pressure.
Remember that it's important 9 to take (take) time for yourself. This means including time for breaks, food, exercise, social time, calling family and friends, and all the other “non-school” tasks that keep you happy and 10 relaxed (relax).
Keep working hard and support others.
