Step1.Warm - up
- The teacher shows pictures of different ways to get to school (by bike, by bus, on foot) on the PPT.
- Ask students: "How do you get to school " "Do you ride a bicycle to school "
- Let students discuss in pairs and then share their answers.
Step2. Presentation
Vocabulary Teaching:
1.sudden → suddenly adv .突然地→ all of a sudden 常放在句首,可以和 suddenly 互换使用。
2.blood n .血→ blood type 血型→ give blood 献血
3. knee n .膝盖→ knees ( pl .)
4. rock n .碎石;岩石
5. stick v .插入;穿入→ stuck (过去式)→ stuck (过分词)→ stick 与 in , into 和 through 等词连用→ stick to "坚持",后面接名词、代词或动名词作宾语。

Sentence Teaching:
- Show the picture of Jackie falling off the bike. Say: "Jackie went down hard on his right side. So we can say 'I went down hard on my right side.Jackie was lucky to wear a helmet. So he said 'Thank goodness I wore my helmet.'"
- Let students repeat the sentences.

- Divide students into groups of four. Let them discuss:
What should we do to stay safe when cycling
Ask each group to list at least three things and then share with the class.
