CABB
Passage
B
Children
are
natural
scientists,
very
interested
in
the
world
around
them.
Helping
them
enjoy
science
can
be
easy;
there’s
no
need
for
a
lot
of
scientific
terms(科学术语)or
modern
labs.
You
only
have
to
share
your
children’s
interests.
Firstly,
listen
to
their
questions.
I
once
visited
a
classroom
of
seven-year-old
children
to
talk
about
science
as
a
job.
The
children
asked
me
“textbook
questions”
about
schooling,
the
money
I
got
and
whether
I
liked
my
job.
When
I
finished
answering,
we
sat
facing
each
other
silently.
Finally
I
said,
“Now
that
we’ve
finished
with
your
lists,
do
you
have
questions
of
your
own
about
science ”
After
a
long
wait,
a
boy
put
up
his
hand,
“Have
you
ever
seen
a
grasshopper(蚱蜢)
eat
When
I
try
eating
leaves
like
that,
I
get
a
stomachache.
Why ”
This
began
a
lot
of
questions
that
lasted
nearly
two
hours.
Secondly,
give
them
time
to
think.
Studies
over
the
past
30
years
have
shown
that,
after
asking
a
question,
many
teachers
usually
wait
only
one
second
or
less
for
an
answer,
no
time
for
a
child
to
think.
When
teachers
increase
their
“wait
time”
to
three
seconds
or
more,
children
give
better
answers.
Thirdly,
watch
your
language.
When
the
child
is
having
a
science
discussion,
don’t
jump
in
with
“That’s
right”
or
“Very
good”.
These
words
work
well
when
it
comes
to
encouraging
a
child
to
help
others.
But
in
talking
about
science,
these
words
make
a
child
think
that
the
discussion
is
over.
Instead,
keep
things
going
by
saying,
“That’s
interesting”
or
“I’ve
never
thought
of
it
that
way
before”,
or
coming
up
with
more
questions
or
ideas.
Lastly,
show;
don’t
tell.
Let
children
look
at
their
hands
through
a
microscope(显微镜),
and
they’ll
understand
why
you
want
them
to
wash
before
dinner….
81.
To
help
children
enjoy
science,
the
most
important
thing
for
teachers
to
do
is
___________.
A.
let
them
see
the
world
around
B.
let
them
study
in
modern
labs
C.
tell
them
the
difficult
terms
on
science
D.
share
the
children’s
interests
82.
In
the
last
sentence
of
the
second
paragraph,
the
words
“your
lists”
mean
____________.
A.
your
answers
to
the
questions
B.
your
own
questions
about
science
C.
your
questions
from
textbooks
D.
all
the
questions
of
your
own
83.
According
to
the
passage,
children
can
give
better
answers
to
the
questions
if
teachers
____.
A.
ask
them
to
answer
quickly
B.
wait
for
one
or
two
seconds
after
a
question
C.
tell
them
to
watch
their
language
D.
wait
at
least
three
seconds
after
a
question
84.
The
writer
talks
about
all
of
the
following
ways
except
that
teachers
should
____________.
A.
tell
their
children
stories
instead
of
telling
them
to
remember
facts
B.
offer
their
children
chances
to
see
things
for
themselves
C.
allow
enough
time
for
their
children
to
find
answers
to
the
questions
D.
encourage
their

to

Smartphones
do
make
our
lives
easier
.
But
have
you
ever
thought
about
what
they
mean
to
your
eyes
According
to
a
study,
half
of
British
people
own
smartphones
and
they
spend
an
average
(平均)

two
hours
a
day

the
number
of
people
in
the
UK

suffer
from
shortsightedness(近视)since
smartphones
were

1997.
Staring(盯)at
smartphones

gives
you
dry
eyes.
When
looking
at
something
in
the
distance,
your
eyes
automatically
blink(自动眨眼)a
certain
number

However,
when

the
blinking

This
reduces
the

causes

Another

is
using
smartphones
in

If
you
look
at
a

too
much
light
enters
your

This
can
do
harm

the

probably
not
going

there
are
a
few

Hold

30

Take

try
the
following:
look
at
something
at
least
five
meters
from
you
and
then
focus
on
the
tip
of
your
nose.
Repeat
this
several
times.
It
should
reduce
the
discomfort
in
your
eyes.

Decisions,
decisions!
Our
lives
are
full
of
them,
from
the
small
ones
to
the
life-changing.
The
right
to
choose
is
central
to
everyone.
Yet
sometimes
we
make
bad
decisions
that
leave
us
unhappy
or
full
of
regret.
Can
science
help
Most
of
us
know
little
about
the
mental
processes(心理历程)that
lie
behind
our
decisions.
Luckily,
what
psychologists
are
finding
may
help
us
all
make
better
choices.
Here
are
some
of
their
amazing
discoveries
to
help
you
make
up
your
mind.
Consider
your
emotions.
You
might
think
that
emotions
are
the
enemy
of
decision-making,
but
in
fact
they
are
a
part
of
it.
Whenever
you
make
up
your
mind,
your
brain’s
emotional
centre
is
active.
University
of
Southern
California
scientist,
Antonio
Damasia,
has
studied
people
with
damage
to
only
the
emotional
parts
of
their
brains,
and
found
that
they
were
unable
to
make
basic
choices
about
what
to
wear
or
eat.
Damasia
thinks
this
may
be
because
our
brains
store
emotional
memories
of
past
choice,
which
we
use
to
help
the
present
decision-making.
However,
making
choices
under
the
influence
of
an
emotion
can
greatly
affect
the
result.
Take
anger
for
example.
A
study
by
Nitika
Garg
of
the
University
of
Mississippi
and
other
scientists
found
the
angry
shoppers
were
more
likely
to
choose
the
first
thing
they
were
offered
rather
than
considering
other
choices.
It
seems
that
anger
can
lead
us
to
make
quick
decisions
without
much
thinking.
All
emotions
affect
our
thinking
and
motivation(动机),so
it
may
be
best
to
avoid
making
important
decisions
under
their
influence.
Yet
strangely
there
is
one
emotion
that
seems
to
help
us
make
good
choices.
The
American
researchers
found
that
sad
people
took
time
to
consider
the
various
choices
on
offer,
and
ended
up
making
the
best
choices.
In
fact
many
studies
show
that
people
who
feel
unhappy
have
the
most
reasonable
view
of
the
world.
52.

does
the
underlined
word
“central”
mean
A.

the
middle
B.

C.

D.

53.
Damasia’s
study
suggests
that
________.
A.
emotions
are
the
enemy
of
decision-making.
B.
our
brain
has
nothing
to
do
with
decision-making.
C.
people
with
physical
damage
find
it
hard
to
make
up
their
minds.
D.our
emotional
memories
of
past
choices
can
affect
present
decisions.
54.
Why
are
angry
shoppers
more
likely
to
choose
the
first
thing
they
are
offered
A.
They
often
forget
their
past
choices.
B.
They
make
decisions
without
much
thinking.
C.
They
tend
to
save
time
when

D.
They
are
too
angry

55.
What
do
we
learn
from
the
text
A.
Emotions
are
a
part
of
decision-making.
B.
Sad
people
always
make
worse

C.
No
emotion
seems
to
help
us

That’s

.But
on
March
5th
in

this
question
.It
was
the
first

the
Homebrew

Everyone
in
the

shared
the
same
hobby—fitting
together
computer
parts
.The
members
of
Homebrew
differed
in
their
levels
for
skill
and
experience.
Some

.Some

.They
were

six

the

100

Meetings
were

in
a

.The
people
in
the

They

They

for

Without

One

.But
when

Passage
A
(来自2016中考模拟训练)
阅读下列短文,从每小题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出一个最佳选项。
Every
year,
many
foreign
students
go
to
America
to
study
English.
Some
of
them
will
live
in
an
American
family,
but
others
will
make
a
different
decision.
They’ll
live
with
friends
who
come
from
their
own
country.
I
believe
that
if
a
foreign
student
thinks
carefully
about
the
two
ways,
he’ll
decide
to
live
with
an
American
family.
Even
though
there
are
one
or
two
disadvantages
to
the
first
way,
there
are
far
more
advantages.
In
making
his
decision
about
how
to
live
in
the
USA,
the
foreign
student
is
careful
to
think
about
one
or
two
disadvantages
to
live
with
an
American
family.
First
of
all,
he
must
know
that
he’s
going
to
feel
homesick(想家的)
at
first.
Living
in
an
American
family
may
make
this
feeling
become
stronger.
Also,
the
American
family
may
do
too
much
to
take
care
of
him.
They
may
ask
him
where
he’s
going,
when
he
leaves
home,
and
when
he’ll
return.
If
a
foreign
student
lives
in
an
American
home,
he’ll
know
the
country
and
its
people
much
better.
For
example,
he’ll
see
how
the
parents
teach
their
children.
He’ll
feel
better
because
the
American
family
will
help
him
get
used
to
a
new
life.
In
an
American
family,
he
can
learn
English
fast.
Family
members
can
help
him
with
his
homework.
When
he
speaks
English,
they
can
help
him
correct
the
mistakes
he
makes.
In
this
way,
he
can
learn
English
more
easily.
Although
there
are
some
disadvantages
to
live
in
an
American
family,
there
are
more
advantages.

Think
of
life
as
a
game
in
which
you
are
playing
with
five
balls
in
the
air.
You
name
them
work,
family,
health,
friends
and
spirit
and
you
keep
all
of
them
in
the
air.
You
will
soon
understand
that
work
is
a
rubber
ball.
If
you
drop
it,
it
will
bounce
(弹跳)
back.
But
the
other
four
balls,
family,
health,
friends
and
spirit,
are
made
of
glass.
If
you
drop
one
of
these,
they
will
be
broken.
They
will
never
be
the
same.
You
must
understand
that
and
try
to
have
balance
in
your
life.
How
Don’t
look
down
on
your
worth
by
comparing
yourself
with
others.
It
is
because
we
are
different
and
each
of
us
is
special.
Don’t
let
other
people
set
goals
for
you.
Only
you
know
what
is
best
for
yourself.
Don’t
give
up
when
you
still
have
something
to
give.
Nothing
is
really
over
until
the
moment
you
stop
trying.
Don’t
be
afraid
of
difficulties.
It
is
by
taking
chances
that
we
learn
how
to
be
brave.
Don’t
shut
love
out
of
your
life
by
saying
it’s
impossible.
The
quickest
way
to
receive
love
is
to
give
it;
the
fastest
way
to
lose
love
is
to
hold
it
too
tightly;
the
best
way
to
keep
love
is
to
give
it
wings.
Don’t
run
through
life
so
fast
that
you
forget
not
only
where
you’ve
been,
but
also
where
you
are
going.
Don’t
be
afraid
to
learn.
Knowledge
is
a
treasure
you
can
always
carry
easily.
Don’t
use
time
or
words
carelessly.
You
can’t
get
them
back.
Yesterday
is
history,
tomorrow
is
a
mystery,
and
today
is
a
gift;
that’s
why
we
call
it
“the
present”
Life
is
not
a
competition,
but
a
trip,
step
by
step.

中考阅读理解
C
They
say
there
are
three
ways
to
experience
the
Grand
Canyon,
on
foot,
on
mules(骡子)
or
by
air.
We
chose
the
first.
Up
early,
my
husband
and
I
and
our
three
children
couldn’t
wait
to
get
started.
We
decided
to
walk
along
a
lovely
path
named
Bright
Angel
Trail.
As
we
set
out,
I
was
shocked
at
how
narrow
the
path
was.
And
I
couldn’t
help
noticing
that
the
other
tourists
weren’t
like
us.
They
had
heavy
backpacks,
water
bottles,
and
hats.
But
as
usual
we
were
dressed.
As
the
sun
rose
higher,
Arizona’s
famous
heat
seemed
to
roast(烘烤)us.
There
was
no
shade
and
our
legs
were
aching.
We
decided
to
go
back,
with
the
girl
on
my
back
and
the
boys
far
behind.
By
the
time
we
finally
got
back,
our
legs
were
like
jelly.
The
next
day,
after
we’d
had
a
long
rest
and
a
good
breakfast,
we
were
ready
for
another
view
of
the
Canyon

by
air.
After
our
last
walk,
this
would
be
the
easiest
thing
in
the
world.
We
called
to
each
other
excitedly
as
the
plane
took
off
and
circled
around
the
Canyon.
But
the
smiles
on
our
faces
disappeared
as
the
pilot
tossed(翻转)the
plane
around,
pretending
he
was
going
to
hit
the
ground.
I
shouted,
“STOP,
TAKE
US
BACK!”
When
we
finally
arrived
back
on
land,
once
again
our
legs
were
like
jelly.
We
hardly
spoke
as
we
drove
back.
As
I
said,
there
are
three
ways
to
view
the
Grand
Canyon.
We
never
tried
the
mules,
but
personally
I’d
suggest
a
fourth:
buy
yourself
a
good
magazine
like
National
Geographic.
That
way,
you
can
see
the
Canyon,
without
fear
or
tiredness.

B
Too
many
people
want
others
to
be
their
friends,
but
they
don’t
give
friendship
back.
That
is
why
some
friendship
doesn’t
last
very
long.
To
have
a
friend,
you
must
learn
to
be
one.
You
must
learn
to
treat
your
friend
the
way
you
want
your
friend
to
treat
you.
Learning
to
be
a
good
friend
means
learning
three
rules:
be
honest;
be
generous;
be
understanding.
Honesty
is
where
a
good
friendship
starts.
Friends
must
be
able
to
trust
one
another.
If
you
don’t
tell
the
truth,
people
usually
find
out.
If
a
friend
finds
out
that
you
haven’t
been
honest
you
may
lost
your
friend’s
trust.
Good
friends
always
count
on
one
another
to
speak
and
act
honestly.
Generosity
means
sharing
and
sharing
makes
a
friendship
grow.
You
don’t
have
to
give
your
lunch
money
or
your
clothes,
of
course.
Instead
you
have
to
learn
how
to
share
things
you
enjoy,
such
as
your
hobbies
and
your
interests.
Naturally
you
will
want
to
share
your
ideas
and
feelings.
These
can
be
very
valuable
to
a
friend.
They
tell
your
friend
what
is
important
to
you.
By
sharing
them
you
help
your
friend
know
you
better.
Sooner
or
later
everyone
needs
understanding
and
help
with
a
problem.
Something
may
go
wrong
at
school.
Talking
about
the
problem
can
make
it
easier
to
solve.
Turning
to
a
friend
can
be
a
first
step
in
solving
the
problem.
So
to
be
a
friend
you
must
listen
and
understand.
You
must
try
to
put
yourself
in
your
friend’s
place
so
you
can
understand
the
problem
better.
No
two
friendship
are
ever
exactly
alike.
But
all
true
friendships
have
three
things
in
common.
If
you
plan
to
keep
your
friends,
you
must
practise
honestly,
generously
and
understandingly.
50.
Some
friendship
don’t
last
very
long
because__________.
there
are
too
many
people
who
want
to
make
friends
those
who
never
give
others
friendship
receive
no
friendship
from
others
those
who
give
others
friendship
receive
friendship
from
others
They
don’t
know
friendship
is
something
serious
51.According
to

anything
else
