【知识探究】
Nothing is impossible; the word itself says “I’m possible”.没有什么是不可能的,这个词本身就在说“我是可能的”。
用法总结 impossible是形容词,意为“不可能发生的;办不到的”,由“否定前缀im-+possible (adj.可能的)”构成。类似的词还有impolite“不礼貌的”和impatient“不耐烦的”。例如:
I found it impossible for him to solve the maths problem. 我发现他不可能解出这道数学题。
知识拓展 impossible的反义词为possible;其副词形式为impossibly。例如:
We look forward to meeting you as soon as possible. 我们盼望着尽快见到你。
