In New York City's Chinatown,a lot of patients visit Wu Yigiao,a TCM master from Zhejiang. Some of them are Chinese, and some are Americans.Wu has been practicing TCM in the USA for 28 years. Before that,he practiced it in China for 15 years. He has a deep understanding of TCM. TCM is so helpful that some Americans have also chosen to work on it.Frank Griffo has been an acupuncturist in California for about 18 years. In 2015,he graduated from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.Ho then spent seven years studying the best acupuncture methods.
"There are over 60,000 acupuncturists in the USA right now.Chinese medicine has grown rapidly in recent years".Griffo said. Before the.1970s,most American people didn't know acupuncture. But now TCM is playing a bigger role in their life as a sale and noninvasive (无创的) treatment for a lot of problems that Western medicine has difficulty providing good results or treatment choices for. Have you ever poured water onto your shirt right before an important event?Usually, clothes darken in color when they get wet.Why do clothes often appear darker when they get wet?
Before understanding this question,we should first take a quick look at how we "see" colors.Take a red shirt as an example. When it is under the sun,it absorbs (吸收) different wavelengths (波长) of light, except for the red light wavelength. The red light wavelength is reflected (反射) to our eyes. That is why the shirt appears red to us.
Now let's return to the wet shirt. When the light hits a wet shirt,it has to pass through the water on the shirt. The light that should be reflected by the shirt is re-absorbed by the water. This means less light will be sent to our eyes.As a result, the shirt looks "darker".
But remember, sometimes a wet shirt can seem brighter from some special angles (角度) of watching. The surface of a shirt is usually rough (粗糙的).Adding water to it makes it smoother.A smooth surface reflects light in a different way from a rough surface. So you may see a small and bright reflection of the light from a certain angle. So basically,a wet shirt will be darker than a dry one,but it can also appear more "shiny" at times.
27.How does the writer explain how we "see" colors from the text? ______
A. By telling a story. B. By giving an example.
C. By sharing an experience. D. By showing a fact.
28.What will happen after the light passes through the water on the shirt? ______
A. More light will be sent to our eyes.
B. Certain light will be re-absorbed by the water.
C. The water on the shirt will be absorbed.
D. The light reflected by water will be reduced.
29.What can we infer from the text? ______
A. The light makes the clothes look smooth.
B. Adding water to the surface changes anything.
C. Being wet will certainly make clothes look shiny.
D. The more light gets in our eyes, the brighter clothes are.
30.What's the purpose of the passage? ______
A. To show the red light wavelength is reflected to our eyes.
B. To explain why clothes often darker when they get wet.
C. To let us understand why clothes often appear more "shiny" at times.
D. To warn us not to pour water onto the shirt before an event.

Some people think that just letter grades or scores of the report card can not be a good way to encourage students to work hard.Nowadays, students' grades are shown in many different ways in schools.Recently, some schools just give students some comments (评语).On the card, teachers describe the skills a student needs to work on without giving letter grades such as A or exact numbers.
These schools give their reasons. The grades don't say much about which skills a student has learned. What's more,it stops the parents from comparing their children with others. In fact, they think that worse grades just mean you are having a hard time with pared with the letter grades or exact numbers,a teacher's comment usually gives more information.Besides,it can protect students' privacy (隐私) and avoid hurting children's pride.
Many students feel happy as they know this news because they don't need to be compared with others.More importantly, they don't need to feel embarrassed if their grades are not that good. Many parents also feel that the letter grades or number grades are outdated. It's time to change.
In fact, the letters and numbers on report cards send the wrong messages. And actually the grades or ranking (排名) of an exam can't show that a student is a "good" one or a "bad" one.Rather than focus on grades, students should pay close attention to the teachers' comments. They will guide students in the steps to improve.
(1) How do some schools describe a student's skills nowadays?
______
(2) List two disadvantages of letter grades or numbers.
______
(3) Why should students pay attention to teachers' comments?
______
(4) Do you hope to get such a new report card from your teacher? Why or why not?Write 30 words or more.
